I thought it over, and today I purchased a plane ticket - leaving this Wednesday to see my Onelis. Its been 23 days since we last spoke, and although her phone should be turned on soon (not sure when $$), I think a surprise visit will warm Onelis' heart and calm mine at the same time.

If she has a hard time with money, and is scraping to get the peso to contact you. you can usually send money western union. it sure beats worrying, and will give you peace of mind
