Jesus told me that he is Athiest, that he grew up 'hating' Americans, and that he wants to go into Engineering - receiving his education in Cuba. I usually don't question too much people tell me. But, of course, people can be fabricating their family history. You never know. His business phone is available on the post, and you can call him (in English) and ask why his name is in English, not Spanish.

I on the other hand, took this photograph yesterday morning before heading back to Los Angeles International. No fabrications whatsoever. Blanca is good people...

Blanca is the young woman who was cooking dinner the day the thief broke in and stole her purse. She lost $3.50 - 3/4 of a days minimum wage in a matter of seconds. She thought I was real cute, but at only 19 yrs. old, she'd be stuck with a senior citizen before too long...She's real sweet though, and we laughed and talked every day.

This is what I told my old friend 'Q' of L.A.-based 'Uberzone' - my most successful musican-friend who I met back in the late 1980s when we were both addicted to Electronic Body Music (EBM) groups like Nitzer Ebb and Front 242. Andres (left) and Oscar (right) are the two night staff that run Hotel Caribbean Gold, Barranquilla, Colombia. On my last morning, I went downstairs to say goodbye to my new friends. I also told them how cool management was for not charging me $$ since I destroyed the bathroom sink. They felt bad, since it feel and broke on top of my foot, shattering into about 20 pieces. Ouch.

I told them that I thought they were nice Costeños. Andres was quick to point out that him and Oscar's families were from the interior of Colombia, but moved to Barranquilla to find work. "No somos Costeños. Somos del interior del pais."

Andres said goodbye to me and offered some 'Antique' Colombian pesos to me, "For Good Luck." It said, "10 Pesos Colombianas". Andres showed me a $1 Dollar Bill he had been saving as a showpiece. I reached in my walled, and I presented Andres with a new(er) $10 bill in exchange. I told him, "Now all you need is a $5, a $20, and a $50 to complete your collection." Andres smilied, and like all Colombias do at places of commerce, held the bill up in the air, looking for its' watermark.
