They're only after people who they can benefit from. Most Americans are not on that list.

I didn't mention this to my family, but while I was in Santa Marta with Onelis in December, an Australian woman was kidnapped and kept in a safehouse in that city until $33K was wired to her captors. I subscribe to Google News Alerts "Colombia". Only a few news outlets mentioned this.
