The missing fiancee was what you call a Vascilona - someone who hangs around just to party, or for good times, but nothing serious. I saw this in February with Monica and Benoit. He had traveled to Barranquilla 4 times, and sent hundreds of dollars every month, but without any sort of commitment from Monica. Benoit lives in Quebec, Canada and he was quick to complain about the bitter, winter cold.

In July 2008, I met Leidys and we become friends. I filed for a K-1 Visa roughly 9 months later after getting to know her better. "Friends First" is what I told the Consular Officer in Bogota during our K-1 Visa Interview. The rest is history.
