Suerte Ken en la entrevista.

WRT the ring, bring the ring, let her wear the bling, but when she walks in the street have her turn the ring so the diamond is in the palm of her hand. Then it will look like a wedding band which is much less tempting to want to be stolen.

Expect a detailed rundown on everything Bogota-related. We'll be very careful with her new ring as well.

How knows...Maybe Onelis' brother Hans will pay me back the $400 I loaned him in May 2008!?!

Would it hurt to ask the guy while I'm there? We'll see!

Wow. It seems like only yesterday you were wondering where she is. lol

Good luck, Ken!

I appreciate everyones advice on this forum. At the time, I was really upset when I posted page 1 of this thread. Now, I feel I gained a true education from everything I saw in Barranquilla over the past two years.

-Ken

this thread is part of vj legend now

And very fitting for a Legendary Manly Man's Man, like Ken.

Ever think of selling film rights? Anyway, since this thread is now becoming part of VJ history, a blast from my past...

"Our first stop is in Bogotá to check the Columbian fields, the natives smile and pass along a sample of their yield. Sweet Jamaican pipe dreams, golden Acapulco nights, then Morocco then the east, fly by morning light..."

Passage to Bangkok

~Rush 2112

Seeing this thread on the big screen would be the best! Who knows?? I might know the song from Rush if I hear the melody, but I'm sure they're referring to the flowers that grow in the green houses that surround the city.

Well, I do write screenplays! I would cast shisha smokin' Charles as Ken :P who would play your lovely fiancé?

Good luck down there SuperKen. We wish you safe travels, and a lifetime of happiness (without too much vocabulary development).

Greetings from Bogota, Colombia - the city shrowded in fog/clouds. I´m stationed exactly 2 blocks from the U.S. Embassy, but at the moment, on Carretera 70 waiting for Leidys´ Medical Exam to be completed. The city is a much different environment from the Northern Coast. Sightseeing is an activity reserved for the idle rich rather than a simple VJer like myself.

For Example: A trip into the nearby mountainside to check out a trendy brew pub would cost $45USD per person each way - taking the Transmilleniu Public Transportation. A simple day trip from Barranquilla to Santa Marta del Rodadero by comparision would cost roughly $45 for two persons, meal included. Leidys and I went this morning to have her TB and blood work performed, and I checked out this cool park on the mountainside near Carrera 38. The photography speaks volumes of the local environs, just too bad it is so expensive to travel the countryside.

With all of the Medical exams being completed today, Leidys and I plan to have a VJ reunion with some local Bogotans tomorrow afternoon. Wednesday morning is the Visa Interview, and we´re both anxious and excited for what is to come. WeLoveBogota.com has an excellent apartment that Leidys really loves. She keeps telling me the apartment is so nice, that it makes her feel as if we are already on our honeymoon ¨Luna de Miel¨. Pretty cool advice on the accomodations, VJ - we really love our hotelapartment!

Hasta muy pronto,

Ken

p.s. - Lots of photos to follow (tomorrow afternoon)

HEY VJ -- WE WERE APPROVED YESTERDAY!!!

It was a 15 minute interview, and Leidys had absolutely nothing to provide. The CO had questions based directly on this thread. After looking at the I-134 his question was, "Where did she go?" There was lots to discuss. When I get home from work, I'll expand on how the interview went, and the exact questions I answered.:dance:
