Okay, tonight I had time to think about concluding this thread. I can't continue at this time for fear of Leidys' safety. When Onelis explained that she wanted to know Leidys' whereabouts, her name, the barrio where she lived, what schools she attended, I realized how common Onelis really was. Some of the people she has befriended are both opportunistic as well as dangerous. When I think about the great times that Leidys and I spent together last week and early this week, I can't help but think she is the one perfect companion I could have met during my lifetime. To think of her life being in danger because of a thread I started from the safety of my home in Southern California would be the most cowardly act I could commit in my life.

Tonight, Leidys and I talked about our future that we so badly want to share; the children we plan on having, our life we want to spend with each other. I cannot continue without mentioning one last detail regarding Onelis back in March '08. When I discussed this unmentionable with friends, they told me, "Onelis never loved you."

When someone goes on-line with a dating agency, they don't know how desperate the party is on the other end of those emails. To what depths they would go to earn a living, or to provide for their family. This is where International on-line dating can go from being mysterious to insane. At the time that I met Onelis, I had just suffered the loss of a 2nd friend - a Best Friend in the timeframe of 13 months. My ex-wife had survived Cancer treatment, and Systemic Lupus, but at age 33, it was not certain how long she would live.

Traveling to visit Onelis' friend in March - just to say, "Hello." I did not take to too seriously that I was walking into one of Barranquilla's most dangerous and impoverished barrios. For the past 3 years (at that point), death had surrounded me so entirely, that danger did not register on my radar. Now, with the love that I feel for Leidys, to have anything bad happen to her, I would feel such a loss that I would carry this to my own grave. So, the motivation for Onelis leaving me cannot be stated here.

In 4 or 5 years time, who knows... Onelis may have moved to another Colombian provence. But, I cannot take the chance of endangering anyone by naming names and showing pictures on this thread. So, the "Good Stuff" cannot be mentioned.

Ken,

In my opinion you have nothing to worry about from Onelis. Ken if you haven't realized by now Onelis was playing you strictly for money. When the visa paperwork was coming to an end and she couldn't run the game any longer she dropped out of sight and you didn't hear from her again until you flew to Colombia and tracked her down. I don't say this to be hurtful but wake up already. She might of been stringing along a few our guys at the same time as you. The reason she wouldn't take down her profile from the dating site. She had to keep the bait in the water in case another fish came biting! On the other hand because of Onelis deceitful tactics with you a blessing was bestowed upon you by meeting Leidys. So in the end it sounds like you might of met the love of your life....Who doesn't like a ....Happy Ending!!!
