You learned spanish through your friends and your novias? ####### I need to get to calling a lot more and finding some spanish tutors to talk to and learn from. The hard part for me is catching the words as I hear them. For now I can probably catch every 10th word someone says to me. Yes 125 pages all from working late night 12 hour mids.. ugh. 12 hrs is hard enough on the job.

Tonight, I was at Macy's buying new clothes for the trip in a few days, and I was eavesdropping on a woman talking on her cell phone. Her and her SO could tell I understood everything she kept saying, and it was great finally being able to do that in more than 1 language.

Also tonight, Jesus chatted w/me in Facebook, and we set up a night of TOTAL CHAOS & ANARCHY!...um, "Locura y Disorden" as Jesus puts it.

La Guaracherna is supposedly a crazy street party that usually goes "out of control" with thousands running around wildly in Barranquilla half the night. Sounds like plenty of bang for my vacation buck.

Next month - mid March, I'll be able to update everything to my new username. I tried this several times already, but nothing doing. In the meantime, I have nothing to do but sit back, and watch my new DVD. Very soon I'll enjoy the ride...

On December 26th, Leidys' younger (25 yr.old) brother went out for an afternoon walk with his new Nike's on. Down the street, some locals held him up at knife-point, demanding these new shoes. He returned home, crying because these new shoes were jacked and he obviously had no recourse.

Last night at Macys, I bought a new pair of Izod jeans and a new Claibourne shirt - to wear when I meet Leidys parents this Saturday. Last March, I bought a pair of knockoff PRADA slipon loafers which will round the ensemble up nicely. Holdup? Knifepoint? Local toughs? 1 knife and 2 guys, I'll fight for my clothes. 2 knives, 2 guys, I'll disrobe in the streets of Barrio el Bosque (del Carcel). Being 6'0 and 210# has its benefits when you're not in the doctors office. I've been losing weight, but while I still have some of it to throw around, I intend to if push comes to shove.
