N-400 Expedited Naturalization 319b Information

i think we're on the same boat here. so what have you decided to do? i think ill give it a try. otherwise, i'll just apply for a re entry permit.

I just wanted to say that your success has inspired me to go ahead and apply for my wife's citizenship.

My main question is that items 5, 6, 7, and 11 seem very similar. Since my employer is a small business (indeed it is my business), could it be that I can include all pieces in one letter on company letterhead? What is a letter of authorization, by the way?

I am about to apply under 319b.. I just got my LPR 2 months ago. My husband is already in italy (Im in the states). My question about the 3 year as LPR being waived was answered.. now do I need to be residing abroad to apply under 319b ?? or can I apply here in the states and then go with my hubby? Thank you for answering in advance.. I really appreciate it because Im so confused!

Hi! My husband owns a 50% of a us firm together with his american partner who also owns 50%. They put up an accounting outsourcing firm abroad since 2007 and we have been stationed abroad ever since. We are expected to stay abroad for a period of 5 yrs. My husband and my three children are all US Citizens.

Tried my luck the first time:

Last 2008 i applied for n400 under 319b, got an appointment but missed it since i was about to give birth to my third baby. I even stated it on my application but i guess they dont really care much about my timeline. Gave registered mail twice, called USCIS twice stating my reason for non appearance. Received a notice from them stating that i need to contact them bec of non appearance. Sent registered mail again. Kept calling USCIS when my interview will be, they never gave me a straight answer. Finally, i went back to the states because it has been almost a year since i've filed my application only to find out that my case was denied due to non appearance! It seems i do not have much luck with it.

So my questions are:

1. Is it worth it, applying for n400 under 319b the second time around, or am i just wasting money?

2. Has anyone filed from california, or even the west coast that has taken the oath ceremony the same day? or is it better to have it in fairfax?

please help me!

1. The back of your interview notice gives instructions how to reschedule your interview. You should have just rescheduled for a later date after you recovered from having a baby.

2. What type of firm does your husband run? It must follow the following rule. It sounds like your husband is engaged in developing foreign trade for the United States.

(B: in the employment of the Government of the United States, or of an American institution of research recognized as such by the Attorney General, or of an American firm or corporation engaged in whole or in part in the development of foreign trade and commerce of the United States, or a subsidiary thereof, or of a public international organization in which the United States participates by treaty or statute, or is authorized to perform the ministerial or priestly functions of a religious denomin ation having a bona fide organization within the United States, or is engaged solely as a missionary by a religious denomination or by an interdenominational mission organization having a bona fide organization within the United States

3. You already have a green card right?

4. Citizenship is worth the cost if you think you might qualify.

5. Contact your local U.S. congressman's office and they can make an inquiry on your behalf after you submit your application.

- yes, that's what i did. but i called them several times and they said they dont have anything on their system yet so they told me to wait. i even consulted a lawyer and she said it really takes time for re scheduling. by the time i knew it, after more than six months from the original scheduled date, i spoke with three different persons who finally referred me to the l.a. office and the officer said that my case was denied since they did not get a response (even though i registered mail them three of my letters). either i can appeal it (which i need to pay pretty much the same amount) or he recommended to me to just re-file.

-it is an LLP firm 100% american owned, a firm which pretty much is like a call center, but a back office of accounting (called bpo firm) abroad

Fairfax sees 319b applications on a regular basis. My wife had her interview in Iowa and it was the first 319b case they'd ever seen. The adjudicator didn't even know it was possible so she initially denied her application. It ended up costing several thousand dollars in lawyer fees to prove our case. In hindsight, flying to Fairfax would have been much cheaper. If I did it all over again, I definitely would have gone to Fairfax.

my mailing address is in california but i wish to be interviewed at fairfax, viriginia. where should i send my application? they changed their lockbox facility and it says that if i reside in california, i need to send it to phoenix, az lockbox. but what if i wish to be interviewed at fairfax? should i send it to the lockbox in texas, which is in charge of virginia area?

You will send to the Texas lockbox for interview in Virginia. Include a cover letter and request interview in Fairfax, VA.

We filed for expedited naturalization (319b) before departing for Japan. We did the biometrics in the US before departing the US and are awaiting the interview letter. Are we required to have a police clearance from Japan for the interview. We will only have lived here 2 to 3 months at time of interview. Thanks in advance for assistance.

Police clearance wasnt necessary because you have to be a resident for 6 months in foreign country.

Hi! I am in the process of doing the 319 b as well.. i have so many questions! lol I have already desperately made 2 threads for questions but i haven't gotten so much answers yet.

ANyway, the thing is my husband is military and I am already here with him on command sponsorship.

I wonder if I still need the DD 1278? since I am already in Japan.

Which address should I put on part 4? the physical japan address or the APO, AP?

i was thinking maybe I can just write the physical address on the part A and then his APO, AP on the mailing and do the care of with hubby's name on it. BUt it also raises concerns for me having read that some people missed oath taking because their mail took forever.

or should I use his grandma's US add for mailing address so we get mail on time? we used his dad's add when we did the K-1 until AOS but we can't use that anymore.

i read on one of the posts here that there's a need for a police clearance for being in a foreign country for 6 months,

well I have been here since february 18 (after I got my AP I flew here right away, and my GC was forwarded by his dad to our APO add) but I am afraid it will take time for me to gather all documents since we have to ask for tax transcripts from IRS still. So by the time we get them in our APO mail, i will have stayed here for more than 6 months.. so should I need a police clearance from japan? thanks
