I don't feel like reformatting my hard drive tomorrow night. (course if you want to bad enough, you can retrieve anything on a formatted hard drive anyways)...but I am planning on taking my laptop to Palestine with me. I want to for my own entertainment when habibi is sleeping (cuz jet lag affected me really weird last time), and I have been talking up the Sims 2 to my husband and telling him all about our afmily with 9 kids. Now he wants to see it and learn how to play too, lol

Anyone ever take a laptop through Israeli security before? I know they do search electronics but do not know how closely though. Going in no problem. But coming out, they took me away from my cell phone and digital camera and put me in a curtain room and took my electronics for a while. I did not have my laptop with me at the time. ow I wanna take it. but are they actually going to boot the thing up and look at every single ting n my hard drive including browser cache, and files that have ben or are currently on my hard drive? I dont have anything illegal (by US standards ) on my laptop. I just don't feel like being interogated for an extra 4 freaking hours because they don't like a website or something stupid I did on my laptop a month ago:)

Funny. I wonder who will make it into Palestine first-me or my Palestinian husband;) He said it takes him 5 hours maybe to get through border. But me, hm....I was at Ben Gurion for 4 hours last time. Since I'm on record now by Israeli authorities....I'm planning on another 4 hours:) And if they don't like my laptop, it'll be maybe 8:) FIRST ONE THROUGH THE CHECKPOINT IS A ROTTEN EGG!!!:)

been there 8 times. laptop each time, no issues... i have been made to boot up my computer in us airports but not israel. i think if go in with a good non defensive attitude you will be fine although i am not sure what you are on record for so that might cause you issues.

What I meant from being "on record" in Israel was I never did anything illegal there (I don't efen like dong things illegal in this country:) but I'm on record for having been there before and the only "bad thing" I did was falling in love with a palestinian, hehe Wow you never got made to boot up your laptop though? Even in US, England, and Israel, they mad e me boot up my mp3 player. No biggie really.
