Waiting

This waiting is killing me. I dream about getting the visa every night. I think about it a hundred times a day. I can't wait until I get notified that the process is finished. I just wish I had an accurate timeline! The anxiety over all of this is horrible!

Yap...my husband and I have felt that every single day for the past 2 and half years of processing - It isn't pretty when the melt downs come. Hang in there, you can do it. I thought they would spare me after 8 months of AP but now going on the 10th month I honestly don't know what to think.

I pray we will get help from God to endure this and be together with our SOs.

I am feeling those frustrations too as the time passes. My husband and I have been married over 13 months now and miss each other so much. Sometimes we dream of even 5 minutes just so we can hug each other. He finished his interviews and we have been waiting on the background checks too. I hope your fiance gets his visa before you have to leave and endure any seperation. I don't wish that on anyone.

You guys, there IS an end to AP and God knows the best time. Remember, you are never alone, the Almighty has a master plan for you. Please continue your prayers, AP ends, that is proven by so many of or friends on VJ who are now together with their SOs, it will happen to us too.

Yes, AP is the worse form of torture. It comes as such a surprise after you have jumped successfully through all the hoops. And then to be given no definitive time frame on when it will conclude. It is soooo hard!

Try to keep busy and try to live only in the moment. I really think that is how you get through the waiting. Also, don't feel badly if you do become clinically depressed because it happened to me. This kind of stress can wreck havoc on your mental well being.

Remember we are here to support you and help when things get rough.

I didn't update my timeline because they don't have one for the refugee visa which my husband switched to. His first interview was April 13th, then his second was April 30th, and the third and final one was May 27th. My husband did his fingerprints during the 3rd interview but they started the name check after the second interview. He finished his physical exam three weeks ago so it has just been the waiting game. He did not serve in the military since he didn't finish medical school until 2005. At his last interview they just told him that they think he will be with his wife soon and to come back to find out if he is approved on July 19th.

Then today I got a call from one of the organizations that handles incomming refugees in my area. They said they had gotten my husband's case and wanted to verify that I lived in this area and that my husband would be living with me. He is approved now or they wouldn't forward the case on to the organization who will recieve him. This was great news since I hadn't heard anything. The guy said he will send their acceptance documents through the chain and the refugee center in Jordan should get it by the end of the week. So now we are just waiting on them to schedule his flight out and for him to do his Orientations to America that he must do before he leaves. Hopefully this means he will come within a few weeks. Thank God I got this news. It really brightened my day.
