Never had to worry, really. We had a strong case, lived together for years before applying, dated for years before that; plus, he's Canadian. I really can't imagine what it's like to have to worry -- to go through a high-fraud consulate or to have an "odd" relationship. (Ours was pretty normal even for VJ/long-distance standards.) Mostly, I was just pleasantly surprised when we sailed through AOS without an interview.

What an excellent post.

I think we've all had our dark moments. Ours came when his adjustment was taking too long. Whenever you are not in control of your life, I think it causes stress.

I think a lot of how you feel depends on what you choose to believe and who you choose to talk to about it. Any of us can get ourselves in a black mood if we try hard enough.

It's what alcohol was invented for. :)

Surely that's true! Helps to calm the nerves too!

Jenn...do you know that I never really worried either...even from day 1...

I was excited and anxious but in my heart I never was worried that I wouldn't get an approval.

I even thought if there was a chance that we weren't approved, it wouldn't be a huge deal...our love would find a way...

True story. And there are quite a number of Germans on VJ alone, I think we can take them.... (USCIS, not the Germans)

That's kind of where I have been too. I have been more worried (not the right word...anxious?) about being separated for so long rather than immigration. That's not to say I didn't have moments of panic, and honestly, Patrick's been the one from the beginning that has been eerily calm about it all, moreso than I have.

But yeah, I always felt like, if it doesn't work out, then we'll figure it out somehow...

Glad to see I'm not alone. :)

I wasn't/am not particularly worried either. I think not having to rush helped. I wasn't too worried for the NoA2 because I'm not planning to fly out until October/November anyway. I'm not too worried for the forthcoming interview (whenever that is) because our case is relatively straight-forward; there are no complications and I see no reason for a denial. Being separated does suck but even if I was approved tomorrow I still wouldn't be able to afford to fly out straight away.

Let's see,

My blood pressure level is going high these days because of joint sponsorship issue we are dealing right now and I know once that is done and everything has been posted to NVC, I will be calling NVC every day anxiously to hear --CASE COMPLETE

But my real worry is Mumbai consulate, though my husband will be with me hopefully during the interview but with all the weird stories I have heard of Indian consulates, asking wedding pictures, pictures should show 20 guests and none of them can be relatives, I have no idea where I will submit those from, we had only 15 people in our wedding and in which half of them where the Arya samaj officials, then Indian consulates also have been known to ask for family tree from both sides of parents and need to include contact numbers of all the relatives too............again if that is being asked I dont know what I will do, I have no contact what so ever with my mom's side of family after her death and it has been 16 years to that, I can bet even my dad doesn't know all of our near relatives from her side.

Just as VJ troll pointed out, you basically are in the mercy of consulate people in India, so YES I am a nervous wreck right now and will be the same till I get to my interview.

Alright, I won't qualify for a job at the "new" USCIS then, I was ready for the loony bin once our petition was sitting at NSC waiting to get approved for more than 8 months... My husband, the emotional USC, was calmly waiting during the entire process.

That being said, I was never really worried about getting denied, but I couldn't help wondering what the heck we didn't send or forgot to sign since it took forever!

Same with us. On USCIS service center, I think a lot of people are stressing about not knowing. Yes, they posted updates on current processing times but some days the processing times moves 1 day, next month it jumps 1 week. On the interview part, most people in "easier" consulate are not stressing either but in more difficult consulate, it might be the most nerve wrecking part.

On removal conditions part, the not knowing + travel arrangement was stressing too. I am not worried about getting into US on POE on expired greencard + extension letter, but I am worried I got stuck in South Korea on the way back because the airline personnel has never seen one & would not allow me to board the plane back.

I worried myself sick, literally. But we had to file a waiver so there was a very good chance we could have gotten denied. We just filed for ROC and I'm not really worried about that at all. We have good evidence of our relationship so don't really need to worry.

And I think that probably makes all the difference in the "worry" factor. If there are possible problems or difficulties in the case then ofc there is more reason to worry.

I am usually a huge worrier by nature, which is why this is odd. I remember on the day of his interview thinking "**, what will we do if he gets denied?" and then I fell asleep with my phone in my hand waiting for him to call!!! But it's been patches of worry, rather than a constant.

Of course, now that I've posted this I'm worried we'll have problems getting through the POE or doing AOS

I was hoping so much my husband didn't forget to do something stupid. That was my biggest worry, that he would forget a document or would not sign something (and it happened twice before the interview at the embassy level). I never was worried about him being denied at any point. He's had less hassle entering the US than I have.

You'll be fine. Although I was worried until he set foot on US soil. It didn't help matters that while waiting in line at the border to cross they called him out of line twice. Once we got across that border and into the taxi I said, "let's get the heck outta here before they keep you."

I'm a huge worrier too and I literally did make myself sick while he was gone. I couldn't eat because my nerves were shot and made my acid reflux act up terribly. I lost about 20 pounds in the six months he was gone. Normally that would be a great thing but I started out at 118 pounds anyway.

Good luck and I'm sure things will go smoothly at the POE. :D

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!
