Wanted to find a way to make sun tea....

Those bloody beverage companies are behind that! I realize that was from the CDC, but seriously, I grew up on sun tea (made from tap water no less), and none of us ever got sick. It's like anything else that people consume - if the jar is not well cleaned, bacteria will grow. But what a load of crock. There's bacteria growing on most of the food we keep in the fridge....it's just that there's not enough of it to make us sick. Good God we've become frightened over 'bacteria'.

Na, we don't drink iced tea down here. It's called sweet tea. If it doesn't have enough sugar in it to put you in a diabetic coma then it isn't worth drinking.

hehe - well FWIW - I grew up on sun tea as well, but the jury is still out if teh bakterias gots to ma brain. Regardless - wash out your jar!

I like to buy those Lipton cold brew pitcher size bags... you just seep the bags in cold water.. and then I like to add some sugar and lemon juice to it...

I think I used 2 bags for 2 liters of water and then add about 3/4 cup sugar and about a 1/4 cup lemon juice..
