Does the American half live in Canada? If the American half is in the USA, DCF is not an option for you guys unfortunately and the USC will need to file the I-130 petition with the nearest USCIS Service Center - www.uscis.gov

I am assuming then that you are in Canada and he is in the states rather than him living in Canada with you.

If the most important thing is for you to be in the US with him asap, then I would opt for the fiancee visa. Fiancee visas take less time than immigrant visas, plus he can petition for you right away rather than planning a wedding, getting married, and then filing for the visa that takes longer anyway. The fiancee visa means that you must marry in the US, which may be something you want to take into consideration.

Thank you Margot! The most important thing for me is definately to be with him in the US asap! Marrying in the US is not a problem, didn't take ANY convincing when in I told family and friends that it would be in Georgia!
