N-400 June Nebraska Filers...

Oh, the AR-11 issue. We went to the post office and put a hold on all mail to the "family". The post office took more then a week to process it and they screwed up the address, then took another week to correct the address.

I can safely assume the letter with my wife's N-400 appointment date got bounced back to USCIS. I can only hope they didnt get the letter back and declare my wifes as "abandoned".

I think Ill call the USCIS right now and ask about that.

Whether this is comforting or not, our NOA was 31Mar2008 and we received the IL on 06June2008 from Nebraska so your IL based on this should be due any day now. A bit over two months, according to the IO, wife should have received the OL by now, checking my home for CCTV to learn if the USCIS likes to watch us sweat.

Yeah, we are waiting for the interview letter but we suspect the letter was sent already but got bounced back to USCIS by the post office.

Not really tired, but have my son come over and bring out mail into our house when we are gone and I do the same for him. Also the summer months now when government workers like to take their one month vacations, I use to work for the government, well not sure if the use of the word, "work" is correct.

Have to admit the post office people seem to be a bit dull. Had to talk to a supervisor to get the address change/mail hold problems resolved.

I called the local USCIS for a clarification. I was told that returned mail does not automatically initiate an abandoned N400.

I got I-797C notice of action, which said my Interview is scheduled for 09/16/2008 in Milwaukee, WI. ^^

It was mailed on 08/04/2008.

I hope that my oath ceremony is not sometime between 10/11/2008 and 10/18/2008 because I have conference/meeting scheduled for that week in Los Angeles.

I wish I could vote for this November election. ^^

You may want to let the USCIS people at the local office know when you go in to see them next time. I could be wrong, but I think the swearing in procedure is set each month, and you are put on the list by the local office. Might want to ask them simply add you to the next month's swearing in ceremony.

Well, were heading out for our N-400 interview next week. We moved recently, and we did file an AR-11, yet we didn't get a letter letting us know the date. That we got from calling the USCIS. The post office botched the address change, as did the USCIS. A nice guy from a block over actually knocked on our door and gave us the mis-delivered USCIS letter! We plan to give him 50 bucks and a pizza hut gift certificate.

Moral of the story, careful with the address changes and verify everything. Wish us luck but it looks like everything is moving towards endgame. I will post the results of our interview.

Anyone know how long it takes to issue a passport after they get the request?

lately it's taking them about 10 days to issue a passport.

Ya I did some research and found out that you can pay for expedited 2 week service. I was kinda worried that since my wifes swearing in is October, we may not get her passport before Xmas. But if I can pay a little extra and have it back in less then a month, Im all for it.

Its just good to know that in a week we will be done dealing with the USCIS forever. Thats worth any price.

Well, we are leaving for Helena tomorrow. I will report back how it all goes, but we are not expecting any problems. I could be wrong, but I think we will be given our swear in date and location after my wife passes her interview. I also think my wife will be given her citizenship form, for lack of a better word, after the swearing in process. Then its off to the post office for expedited 14 day passport processing!

I hope there is someone else that will keep this post alive. Anyone else having any progress at all?
