Yes by all means. Even those whose SOs are not here yet are welcome. Some of us are coming sans SOs even though they are here.

I called the restaurant just now. So here is the deal. There are two seating options for a group of our size: 5pm or 8:15PM. 5 is way too early for the Ramadan folks and 8:15 is pushing it for Ready. So need a concensus here, which one to go with.

Second this is that for over 20 people, they want a $100 non refundable deposit in case we don't show (we can cancel up to 48hrs ahead but who wants THAT?? ). So are you all for sure about this, or at least the majority of you? That's a lot to put up and lose.

comments appreciated. Donations for the cause (to be given back at the dinner- I'm organized enough to keep track of it ) would be great too.

Ever thought of two times? doing one at 5 dinner or appetisers.. .. for those that cannot make it later? how many exactly are there... and if that is .. the case.. if some of us came for the 5.. and stayed for the 8 or even returned for the 8 for say .. dinner.. time isnt that big of a deal to me

As for the suggestion, problem is that this is not like Denny's. It's an entire meal/entertainment experience. The menu includes appetizer, main dish, soup I think and a dessert/mint tea for one price. I'm not sure about doing anything a la carte. I really hope we can come to an agreement and all be there at the same time. That is the purpose of the get together. It is not far from downtown Seattle so those of you that are touring around, we can see if there's anything we all want to do and maybe meet up early. I should have Olivia and maybe one other in tow.

So which time are we at? The 5pm or the 8:15pm? And because of the $100 deposit what does that mean for us? I'd send you cash but I don't get money until Aug. 24th. Does it make it $200 deposit if it's for the two times we booked?

I am thinking that most folks will go with 8:15 pm. That is late for us, but no worries! Our kiddies can sleep on the way home.

We let the other K-1 couple that will probably join us know about the time change as well.

I think originally it was Ready4One that needed or requested it to be earlier because of weeones... that seems to have worked out.. so now it looks like is the 815pm on the 13th..

I know whenever I have booked a place for daughters team dinners.. Volleyball or Lacrosse we usually have to do a deposit. This I totally understand. they also appreciate that they know of the size so they can staff correctly. When we made reservations at The Spaghetti factory they requested deposit of $100. gave us a menu to choose from .. we had to choose 4 plates.. then on the night .. those who came could choose from those 4 offerings. we also could not pay individually it needed to be on one tab.. grrr.. so we calculated the prices adding in the gratuity of 18% which was specified.. letting each member know how much they would need in cash... then everyone simply paid to one person who then paid the tab..

I think our night is going to be much simpler.. I think by them knowing this many will show up . . helps them plan.

Haven't been on VJ for a while and was just lurking around when I saw this thread. I can't believe a VJ Seattle meetup is finally happening We have tried to plan so many times and it never came together...how exciting!

Yardie: Great. Would love to meet up with you. I'm still trying to find someone to drive up with me from seattle/everett/tacoma area but I plan to go there either way next week. Is there a day that works best for you between Tues/Thurs/Fri or Sat? I will add your name to the list. I also got a pm from another seattle person who wants to join.

Olivia: I have to send dep weeks ahead so if you could send me yours right when you get it that would be about right. I don't mind putting up the dep but having help would be nice. We have enough people that if each one sends even just $5 it gives us more than enough and like I said, I'll gladly hand it back when I see you.

Janet: Thanks for the additional explanation on the reservation/dep. He said he can hold any size group, just needs to know how many. He'll book up the whol restaurant if we guarantee we are coming LOL

Everyone make sure you take a look at the website in advance so you know how the menu is set up and pricing. Thanks Ready for letting us know you can deal with the situation with no hard feelings. We are looking forward to meeting your family. I'm sure a good time will be had by all. The time is set for 8:15 on the 13th. Pikes, Space Needle, Underground Tour (I've done it twice and found it interesting both times. Different tour guides have different knowledge bases so it's really like going on a different tour), Duck Tour, are things that come to mind.

Dorothy has not made a final decision but we will have a good time regardless. Although we will miss having her with us. I hope Henna will be up to joining us by then.

Not sure how late you are planning to come here but I could meet anytime after 5pm on the weekdays and not sure about Saturday right now. If those times don't work for you that is totally fine...don't rearrange things just for my sake.

As for the meetup...who all is planning on staying overnight in Seattle?
