What if both petitions were approved but you want to follow K3 path?

Both our petitions (I-130 and I-129F) were approved by CIS and both were sent to NVC.

The I-129F package has already arrived at the Consulate here.

First we had thought about going both (K3 and immigrant visa) paths and see what gets to interview first. However, when I talked to the Consulate here, they were really nice but also not up to speed on what needs to be done in such a situation. So we are now considering just going K3, to avoid overcomplicating matters.

If we decide to halt NVC processing of the immigrant visa now, what should we tell NVC exactly?

In an earlier thread, you wrote you asked them to send the I-130 back to ... where exactly?

I am sorry to be asking the same question someone else had asked you. I remember reading your answer but cannot find it anymore, and I do not want to make any mistake here.

Already many thanks for your feedback.

Simply ignore any correspondence from NVC regarding your I-130. The I-129F will continue without input from the petitioner.

Thanks for the reply, Pushbrk.

I was just worried if this (the I-130 being at NVC) would cause problems when we file for Adjustment of Status, but I am probably overthinking it.

I was concerned about the same thing but later learned it was of no consequence. If you want to notify NVC after US entry on a K3 that you will be filing AOS instead of pursuing Consular processing, it can't hurt but we didn't, with no resulting problems.

Save both NOA2's though.

And thank you K-J for your nice message :star:

Our case got expedited so our timeline may not be telling anything, but I hope you will get your NOA2 very soon!
