I just read this on the USCIS.

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

It looks like they have been putting Iraqi refugees ahead of the American citizens.

Since the program began last spring, a total of 27,940 Iraqi individuals have been referred for resettlement to the USRAP. USCIS has interviewed 18,926 Iraqi refugee applicants, approved 13,067 for resettlement and 6,480 Iraqi refugees have arrived in the U.S. as of June 4, 2008.

I'll refrain from any further comments, so I don't get myself in trouble again :innocent:

That's a good point. I wonder where those resources come from to approve those visas.

From looking at the data, I think you are looking pretty good though.

I analyzed the data that has been entered here on this site. Between 1-1-08 and 2-28-08, there are 215 people that have an NOA1 from CSC for a K1 visa. (From your timeline, your NOA1 date is 2-14-08.) Of these 112 have an NOA2 prior to today for K1 visas. That's about 55%. Unfortunately , you are in the 45% that haven't seen the NOA2 yet, but I bet you will see an NOA2 fairly quickly, unless there is some reason for them to send you an RFE. Keep your fingers crossed.

I know the feeling! This is the USC half of "Honeybadger", and I think there are a lot of USC folks wondering why the USCIS gives the priority to certain groups that it does. I for one am not happy with the way immigration is run and plan to send lots of comments to my representatives and Senator, about the way the US seems to be flooded with groups who do not have the best interest of our country in mind. Its too bad that you have to feel you can't say more because someone or some group might take offense. I guess freedom of speech is no longer for "all of us".

Shame on you for complaining about USCIS having compassion for victims of the atrocities of war.

"In identifying Iraqi cases for referral to the USRAP, UNHCR and DOS have been prioritizing eleven categories of especially vulnerable refugees, including individuals who are affiliated with the U.S. Government and religious minorities, among others."

........I'll refrain from any further comments, so I don't get myself in trouble again :innocent:

Well, to me it looks like they are processing vunerable elements of Iraqis as refugees quicker than the NON-REFUGEES because it's two different entry visa types entirely for two very different reasons with different processes.

For all we know these refugees could have been " on the books" waiting for entry since the beginning of the war .....

.......6 years ago, how's that for a wait?

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!

What exactly was the complaint? I read it as an observation as to why it is possibly taking so long to get a NOA2. I too as Jon filed in February. I am among the 45% that sference mentioned that have not received NOA2. Well shame on me for standing with Jon on his observation.

I also didn't see it as a complaint, just a fact. $hit happens.

Jon's observation seems to be that these individuals are being placed ahead of American citizens.

Before you stand with someone on their observation, I'd suggest you consider where that observation is coming from.

So how is that observation a complaint?

I read it as an AHA! moment: A realization as to why getting a NOA2 is being perceived as slow arriving.

Suggestion Noted-

I read the original post.

I considered it as observation, not complaint or whining.

I chose to side with Jon.

ttevolla - You weren't even in the thread before I made my original comment. So I'm not sure what your issue is, especially since I never used the word 'whine'.

My issue is this comment made by the OP:

"It looks like they have been putting Iraqi refugees ahead of the American citizens." ...... and then this comment.....

"I'll refrain from any further comments, so I don't get myself in trouble again."

These comments, coupled with the 'observation', look like entitlement to me.

I made a simple observation, and passed it along to the community here. YES, I have an opinion but I will keep it to myself. I was suggesting that it takes considerable man hours to process some 15,000+ visas, which in turn could be a reason for the current slow downs in processing. At no point did I complain or whine. I merely stated a fact and quote from USCIS's website. You can twist and contort this to whatever end you like, as I really don't care.

I have to agree with Jon n michelle on this one. I didn't see anything wrong in the statement.

I twisted nothing.

You said this:

........I'll refrain from any further comments, so I don't get myself in trouble again."

If you were merely making an observation, you would have stated the facts without adding your own conclusion.
