Hi all. We were approved at our AOS interview yesterday (May 12th) at Los Angeles. From posting the AOS package to the interview took exactly three months. Our AP and EAD were received just one week before the interview date. Here is a quick write-up of our Los Angeles interview experience:

Interview was held at the federal building in downtown LA (300 North Los Angeles St.). There is public parking opposite the building so that was pretty straight forward. We went to the large waiting room 8010 and checked in at about 10:15 for our 10:35 interview. There were many couples there and it was a pretty busy center. We were finally called in at 11am by the interviewer.

We were sworn in and asked to show our IDs. The interviewer took my passport and removed the I94 straight away, so I though that was a pretty good sign. She then asked a couple of questions - have I ever been arrested? have I ever entered US on false documents? have I ever committed terrorism etc?

She then flew through our AOS application checking some of the details - home phone number, work address etc. She then asked for a copy of the 2005 tax return - full copy was provided. Proof of relationship - last three joint bank account statements were provided. Then wedding photos which she looked through and then photocopied and added to the file.

I was then asked to hand back my EAD, which I had received the week before - so glad I spent all the money on that!!! She then said we have been approved and that the Green Card will be in the mail in two weeks. I was then handed a Welcome to America letter and she explained how to remove the conditions in two years time. I did not get a stamp in the passport. That was it and we were done and out of the door in ten minutes.

The whole process was very efficient and quick. Just make sure you have all your paperwork in order complete with copies and you should be fine. Good luck to those with upcoming interviews and those waiting for dates. We will see you all in 21 months for Lifting of Conditions!!!
