Citizens and tourist visas

my mom and 2 brothers most def dont want to immigrate to the US but they want to be able to visit me (xmas, bdays, etc). What is the best way to do this? tourist visas? and if I am a citizen , would it be easier for them to get them or would it be as hard as it is for everybody else?. Another question: I do have one brother who would love to come to live and study to the US, he is 22, single, has a steady job, is it possible for me to bring him ? and how long would it take? Thank you so much!

You need to provide more information. Are you a US citizen? Where is your family from? Does your family have sufficient ties to their home country (i.e., own homes, have jobs, etc.)? Only US citizens can petition for a sibling. LPRs cannot.

If your family wants to come see you for special dates or events, they will have to go to the embassy and ask for a tourist visa but the fact that you may be a US citizen will not help much. You may want to send them a letter of invitation so they can show the CO the day of their visa interview but it will not guarrantee them anything.

As for your 22 year-old brother, he may want to come with a student visa but for that he will have to apply at a college or university, get accepted, and prove that he has enough money to pay for his stay while attending school. If you petition him, you'd have to be a US citizen and it will take more than 10 years for him to get his visa, if not longer.
