Hi All,

I was hoping that somebody could clear this up for me, as my tiny little brain cannot figure it out.

My co-sponsor has given me the I134 form and supporting documents, including letter from employer and bank. He said however that the form states that income tax returns are only neccesary if self-employed. I have also looked at the London embassy advice and it states that two or more of income tax returns, bank letter and emplyer letter are needed, and we now have two of these. So are the tax returns neccesary (ie should I ask my co-sponsor to send me them) or are they more like insurance in case we come up against a pedantic pen pusher at the embassy?

Thanks a lot, David

The co-sponsor may not want to show you his whole financial picture with a tax return. He can mail it directly to the consulate with a cover letter stating your name, type of visa, and case number. They allow that to respect the privacy of the sponsor.

London says two from the list, so what you have should be fine if the income looks good and the info doesn't look dodgy.

London is pretty lax on this stuff but bear in mind USCIS is not evaluating the public charge probabilities or the I-134, a Consular officer is. So, its best to conform as closely as possible to what the individual Consulate indicates they want to see.

Thanks for that, I will double and triple check on the London embassy advice. My co-sponsor is an academic on a good salary so hopefully it will not look dodgy!

On the home straight now...
