When ready to send the DS230 form to NVC, do we send the following documents with the form:

* Birth Certificate

* Marriage Certificate

* Military Records

* Photocopy of Valid Passport Biographic Data Page

* Police Certificate(s)

Furthermore,

I am reading this page: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html and it mentions sending original or certified copies of the required documents. Do we actually send the one and only originals or do we photocopy our originals and send them that?

Thanks for your help

In my case i send all the original documents, except the biographic data of the passport w/c u have to photocopy. What i did was, i got my Birtch cert, Marriage cert, from the NSO in 3 original copies, 1 sent 1 of each w/ my DS230, so i still have 2 left with me, in case in need more originals. don't worry coz some members said that during interview that they saw that these original documents wil be sent by the NVC to the USE, the interviewer is holding it.

I certainly understand why people do not want to part with original documents. But if there is no way to obtain a certified copy from the office that issued the document, then I don't see any other way. You can't submit a Xerox copy to the NVC. You do get the documents returned at the interview.

For the DS-230 application, I made Xerox copies of all the original documents. I also put each original document into a plastic sheet protector and put the NVC case number in pencil on the document and in marker on the sheet protector. That should help with keeping the documents from getting lost or getting damaged.

I wrote a cover letter for the DS-230 stating what was included in the package and that I have xerox copies of all original documents.
