The comments on that story are hilarious - go Southwest! How bad does it have to be for them to divert the plane? I bet everyone else on board cheered when they saw the back of them.

From the video it's pretty clear the problem is the parents and not the kids, who clearly haven't been taught any better. And "austism" and "cerebral palsy" aren't an excuse to allow your children to behave like animals.

The mother admits the kids were running up and down the aisles - 'a little wound up' is what I think she called it.

Wonder what misbehaving is in her book?

IMO the behavior these kids were inflicting on everybody around them probably began in their infancy. Parents who use excuses like 'they're just kids' or 'just babies' are abdicating parental responsibility.

Seriously, I would rather sit next to every kid/baby I have flown near in the past 15 years on a long-haul flight than sit next to that woman for a one hour flight.

I saw that woman on the news last night. She didn't come across very well IMO. I've been on flights like that where a kid has been screaming for hours on end - its hellish. Running around on the plane I can only imagine...

Yikes! It looks like sterilization is in order.

It doesn't sound like these idiots have much of an argument. The fact is, their inability to control their kids compromised the safety of the flight crew and indeed other passengers. Someone on the way to the bathroom, especially an elderly or disabled person, could trip over one of these little brats. It's one thing to have a screaming (but mostly immobile) infant, but something else altogether to have unruly little monsters running up and down the aisle.

It looks like all of the fares at the price level I bought at from NWA are sold out. A quick look around at NWA says that the next level is $781 for the same flight on the same day. The cheapest day to fly is still Christmas Eve. Some of the Christmas Day ones are already in the $820 range.

As for the rest of the airlines, it looks like United comes in at $819, up $100 from last week. Then the next step is $839 with US Airways/Lufthansa.

I am pretty confused about how flights are priced. It is already $150 cheaper to fly on from Amsterdam to Bremen than it is just to fly to Amsterdam. Maybe someone knows why this is like this sometimes?

I flew with my daughter all the time when she was a baby. I did everything I could to keep her quiet. Also alot of walking up and down the aisle. Because I figured it was my responsibility to keep her quiet so not to disturb the other passengers. I figured it was my choice to travel with my daughter, not their choice.

At the end of the flights people would also tell me they did not even realize there was a baby on board.

Also, that is true!!! On take off and landing, so the ears will pop, you should give them a bottle or ####### or something. If you do not have anything else, let them suck on your finger. My daughter never had a problem with her ears.

Just came back from Bremen with Northwest / KLM for $ 685 ( via Amsterdam ). Hope you will find a cheap fare. Had I left 2 days later it would have been about $850. Remember to keep your departure a little flexible, a few days earlier or later can make a difference.

I was looking up airfare from here to Bremenish around X-masish. The cheapest thing I can find is $2852 for the three of us.

Find a friend or local family member to dump the kid on, then buy two tickets for wherever it is you want to go.

That was already suggested, but since my in-laws threw down $1000 dollars for this trip mostly just to see their granddaughter, I don't think that is possible and 2 year olds can't fly alone last I checked.

Find someone who wants a free trip to Germany. Send them with the kid, with instructions to meet your inlaws at the airport to make the transfer and arrange a pickup time for the return trip.
