Just rent a private plane so you don't annoy people. I want to shoot parents who let their kids scream and throw a tantrum. They ruin the flight for everyone.

Three time's a charm...he did not scream neither did he throw a tantrum. He was 'talking' (meaning oooohs and aaaaaahhhs and he yawned a little louder every now and then) but so were all the other people around me. What is your problem?

I think my problem is you not seeing a problem with it.

Life is a ticket to the greatest show on earth.

Not seeing a problem with WHAT? Exactly what did my son do that other one year olds don't do? I apologized to the guy next to me, he was fine. It's not that I'm sitting there clapping my hands and cheering at how great my son can throw a paci. Really...you must think I'm some kind of treehugger that lets their kids throw fits or whatever. I'm not at all. I do dicipline him and I totally understand that people don't want to be annoyed by a crying baby on a 12 hour flight, neither do I, believe me.

Evie, you might as well just save yourself the frustration. There are people who just don't think babies or children should be allowed to travel. Ever. They, apparently, did not travel as children themselves. As well, they see babies and children as far more annoying/disgusting/rude, etc than say, a drunk, severely obese person, or the guy who never shuts up, or the woman with too much perfume, or the person who snores loudly, or falls on you, or takes up too much space....

See my point? It is unbelievable to some people that parents...good, caring, discipline-oriented parents, could have a child who would cry or talk. Unacceptable. ;)

I am paying 2,250. per ticket to see my honey. Only because I live on top of the world B)

YIKES!!!!!

I love it! Great post. :) I just like how people determine good children and bad children by the level of noise they make. If the baby sleeps all the time, it's a greatttt baby. God forbid the child begins to speak it all of a sudden becomes a bad baby. People need to lighten up. I, myself, have no children, but with 8 other siblings, I think I get the idea. ;)

I think I get more pissed off by people who complain before they were even given a reason to complain.

On the last connection back home, a short 1.5 flight, a couple had to sit in front of me and when they saw the baby, the wife almost lost her shite bitching about how horrible it was to sit in front of a baby JESUSFUCKINGCHRIST! I was tempted to punch her in the face as I had just been up for nearly 27 hours along with my daughter. Guess what? As soon as the plane started taxing, my daughter completely conked out for the entire flight. Wow, so you were a completely rude and dumb cnut for nothing, eh? Grr.

Not seeing a problem with WHAT?

With this:

See, I don't care about those AT ALL. ... I'm more worried about my sanity

That's not what you said earlier:

NOPE, and I do that because I know there's people like you. You take the drugs, I let my kids scream.

Now about this:

I feel sorry for that guy next to me but I will not wait to visit my family just because I have a child. Parents with little kids have the right to travel just like everybody else.

Wrong. You have the 'right' to travel like everyone else only if you and your kids behave like everyone else.

Toddler's tantrum ousts family from plane

Some babies will cry no matter how prepared you are for the simple reason of the pressure on their ears and jaw on take off and landing. I myself had horrible pain while landing after crying a lot and getting a cold, must be the congestion makes it a lot worse. I wanted to cry! If I was a baby, I would be screaming. So people need a little more understanding. I know sitting near a crying baby can be really hard. I haven't taken Kavi on a flight yet and I worry about this situation because of people who post about how much they hate sitting near babies. But if the baby has to travel, there is nothing you can do about it. They can't not visit relatives just because some people have zero tolerance for babies. As for the suggestion to rent a private plane(which I hope was a joke), maybe those who don't want to hear babies should rent the plane for themselves. Like we all have big bucks to rent planes for ourselves.

There is a big difference between a baby who does not understand things and a toddler who hasn't had any discipline from his parents and runs around all crazy on a flight.

Personally, I think any person small enough to fit in checked luggage should be placed there............. :P .

I wouldn't want to have to do long-distance travel with an infant. It'd be way too stressful for me cause I wouldn't want the normal stuff a baby does to disturb the other passengers. And it is 'normal stuff' in a several hour time span - a little fussing, crying, poopy diapers - all that jazz.

Serious question. Would it be horrible to give Junior a little benadryl or something to help him sleep through the flight? Would that be a bad thing?

So what you are trying to say is that you subscribe to drugging kids to satiate your personal comfort?
