I started this topic three years ago.

Yes, we had a great time. Did not have any issues with the French people. They were very helpful and even nice. My French from so long ago was not really lost. I at least understood a lot of what I read. It was, however, very expensive. The only thing we found to be reasonable was the price of wine so we took advantage of that!

Took the train from Paris to Rome and was really impressed with what I saw in the south or southeast of France. Someday I want to return and spend time there. Rome was a real adventure with something new and interesting around every corner. Food was more reasonable. The only down side was that we were there in August and it was a bit warm in Rome. Not bad for me having lived in FL for so many years, but my wife complained. She never will get used to heat and humidity.

The following year we traveled to Sydney Australia and we both absolutely loved that area. My wife wants us to move there. It too is expensive, but beautiful with a fantastic climate.

No great trips this year with two kids in professional school. That damn tuition is killing me.

I feel your pain. Were it not for the sizable tax returns due to the college credits we wouldn't be going anywhere! Alla finishes this summer and Sergey will have a full ride scholarship next year so maybe we will have a bit of relief. Until Pasha starts school.

But it is a good topic anyway.
