Can anyone tell me if on a K-1 visa fee in Colombia does each person on the application need to pay the $131 fee or is only the applicant. My fiance is the applicant but she is being accompanied to the States by her two sons. Is it only a fee for herself at the bank or is $131 x 3? Also the Ds-156 forms the bogota embassy says do not sign them until the interview. does that mean the ds-156 or the ds-156K?

Three visas, three applicants, three visa fees. One person per visa application. The $131 visa fee is the same in all countries but is generally paid in local currency equivalent.

This is true; however, in Colombia, a person pays more that the set $131.00 USD because the embassy has a set fixed COP price on this visa which at current exchange demands more than $131.00 USD. I don't know what the current COP amount is now, but back in MAY 2008 my fiancee actually paid about $160.00 USD for her visa after comparing it with the current exchange at that time.

Note:

USD = US dollar

COP = CO-lombia Peso

For some countries, exchange rates vary more quickly than Consulate update their fees stated in local currency. Also some Consulates are slow in updating.
