I´m wating for the arrival of the DS 230 I & II appl. for my husband in Brazil. I have searched online to see the documents required to be sent with that Appl. I know that all documents must be in English and that it needs to be Orginal documents or certified copies. I will send the Orginal Docs, which is in Portuguese and they must be translated to English. My question is...Can it be a copy of the translations or does it have to the orginal translation?????

Do you understand what I mean????

Please guys help me out!!! Thank you..

I saw this

All documents neither in English nor in Portuguese must be accompanied by certified English translations done by a Sworn Public Translator. That seems like Portuguese is okay. You would have to get translations if they were in Spanish or French, for example.

That was on the Embassy website in this document http://www.embaixada-americana.org.br/pdfs...rev03-24-08.pdf

Don't worry - if it's going to the consulate in Rio it can be in English and/or Portuguese.
