My SO and myself (the foreigner) are going to use a co-sponsor for our 1-134 as my finance, the US citizen has just left college and we just want to be on the safe side etc. When/if i get my K-1 visa and go back to the states, we are plan to get married within 2 weeks of my arrival and get the AOS started just as fast.

My question is the following: Who it be a good idea for our co-sponsor to take care of the 1-134 AND 1-864 at the same time? (ie. go get them both notarized together) There wont be much time in between us needing our 1-134 for the interview and then the 1-864 for the AOS (prob a month or so) Can we get our co-sponsor to do this???

Thanks All.

Any advice would be realllllllyyyy appreciated!

PS: We are sending of our first packet this week!

This is just my opinion but... even if your interview is only a month after you submit your affidavit of support (the norm for Ire, I think) you'll already be about 6 weeks from the time it was notorized...then at least 2 more weeks until you file for AOS. My guess would be that they would want more current information.

I know it's a pain..especially when someone is being kind enough to joint sponsor you. They could at least fill out the form twice (different dates) and perhaps get two letters from their employer signed at the same time but dated different times. Then they would simply need to have the other notorized and collect more recent pay stubs.

congratualtions on getting your petition sent off. That's going to feel good!

FYI... The I-864 does not require notarization

YMMV
