I have to admit I am a last minute packer, I pack maybe the day before I leave, and that is only if I am going to Africa, if it is within the states, maybe a couple of hours before hand. Drives my family crazy, they are into lists, and packing days ahead of time.

Ditto.

In fact, I'm kind of obsessive/compulsive about not being obsessive/compulsive if that makes any sense.:lol:

i pack the night before, and finish the morning of :)

and when i move, i move while i pack

garbage bags are great for moving!

I start making a list of stuff about 4-5 days before. I think exactly what outfits I want(what goes with what), how many undies, which jewelry, all of my toiletries, meds, hair-care stuff, which shoes and other specifics like any books, etc. Then usually 1-2 days before, I get the suitcase out and start putting things in according to the list and scratch them off as I do. The list will also include things I may need to pick up and things I need to do before leaving. It's a three part list....things to do, things to buy, things to pack. I (L) lists! I rarely forget anything. And one thing my aunt taught me about lists is to put something on there that you've already done, and then you immediately have something to cross off! :D I especially (L) the crossing-off-of-the-list part!

 Hubster rolls everything into a ball and shove it into his suitcase at the last minute and makes me crazy. But I'm usually sitting back, all done anyway...

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

The day before, I put everything in bed, just like Jack Nicholson on that movie As Good As It Gets. I put the in different piles sweaters or more winterish tops, then the summerish tops, then another pile for the socks, another for the underwear, the pants, shorts, etc. All in different piles. Then I leave it there for a while while I'm double checking and making sure I have everything I need, which is usually twice of what I'll actually wear :P then I finally pack. Then I go to bed and I think about what could be missing so I will pack that the next day or I get off the bed and do it so I won't forget the next morning.

same here ... then I look at the pile ... leave half the sh!t behind because there is no way I'm going to overpack (I can usually find laundry services at my destinations) total time to pack the one bag ... 5 minutes. Advantage to leaving half the stuff behind ... clean clothes waiting when I return.

well yes, of course when she first arrived... that's a given. She had to get rid of bachelorhood. I'm still working my way through hubster's old nasty socks/underoos/t-shirts. Now though I just buy new ones and throw the olds ones away when he's not looking. Otherwise he ressurects them from the bin...

I start making a list of stuff other than clothes that I need to take with me a couple of days before I go.

Laundry gets done the day before.

The bulk of packing gets done the night before.

Last minute stuff gets put in... well.... last minute.

I've flown so much in my life, I've got it down pretty much to a science. Works for me :)
