Anyone else a last minute packer

I pack the day I leave (if I fly out in the noon or later) or the night before, if I fly out in the morning. And I never forget anything. I just know which clothes in my closet to combine and I know what toiletries I need (I usually pack them on the same day after the shower). Same goes for my cabin bag for long distance flights.

I think you develop a routine after a while, just depending on how much you travel.

Your Mom will be fine, don't stress too much. Besides, if she forgets something, I am sure there are shops where she is going.

i pack the night before I travel.. even on international travel

but before leaving I check everything i need like 5 times, check for passport, tickets, wallet and money

There's so much you can't pack until relatively last minute anyway - toiletries, shoes, the odd outfit or two (if you do not have many clothes).

My luggage was once lost at the airport and I had to survive for a week without it. That taught me that all that is really important are the above bolded items.

I usually pack things up few days before travelling. (domestic or international travel)

A day before I travel I am checking again if everything I need is already in my luggage bag.

I do forget things when I am in a hurry..

The day before, I put everything in bed, just like Jack Nicholson on that movie As Good As It Gets. I put the in different piles sweaters or more winterish tops, then the summerish tops, then another pile for the socks, another for the underwear, the pants, shorts, etc. All in different piles. Then I leave it there for a while while I'm double checking and making sure I have everything I need, which is usually twice of what I'll actually wear then I finally pack. Then I go to bed and I think about what could be missing so I will pack that the next day or I get off the bed and do it so I won't forget the next morning.

I don't know that I've EVER had enough clothes that I could pack up things a few days in advance. Well, maybe now, but it's highly unusual. So, I basically do laundry the night before, and pack in the morning, about an hour before I have to leave the house to get a plane. That's me. I'm used to it now and rarely if ever forget anything. When I moved down here to the US though, I was pitching and packing the day before. That was like...a HUGE thing to contend with however.

My husband is the opposite, putting a suitacse out on the spare room bed about 4 days before we leave and packing a little bit each day. He's definitely done 2 days before we go anywhere.

I usually can't sleep the night before (a long trip) anyway--so I expect to fall asleep inflight.

Not me i make sure all our chit is packed 3 days ahead and check it over and over the funny part though we always leave something behind on our way back homefrom trip damn i hate that lol.

Well, I got mom out of the house at 4am - a little later than anticipated and she packed right to the second we left.

At 2am she decided to put her pooped on hiking boots in the dryer. The laundry room just happens to be right next to where I was sleeping. . . .

She had zero gas in the truck, didn't know if her new credit card worked, and forgot a chocolate bar at the house (this dismayed her the most).

It was a nice way to spend 4am on a work day.
