Hi all,

I'm about 6-8 weeks shy of the whole K1 process finishing and my gf getting her visa. Now I have planned to visit her next week and will be going through Heathrow. Now i'd like to be as honest as possible when I go thru POE so......what info should I carry to prove I plan on leaving after a fortnight (I may end up dropping the F word)?

In my hands right now I have a three letters, one is a copy of the NOA1, one mentions my address change, and finally the letter from NVC saying the case is at the embassy. Is that good enough?

I do actually have a 5 year uk entry clearance in my passport thats good until 2010, but I assume its invalid as I no longer work/live in the UK. I know they'll ask that first if I still work in the UK. I'm guessing all i'll need to say is that I left a year ago and am just visiting on holiday and that will be that?

Regards.

Oh I may be carrying (infact hope to carry the aff. of support information...i assume that will be even more helpful)

Anyone have experiences like this or spouses?

My husband visited me for Christmas and New Year and I posted a similar question. He also brought a copy of the notice of approval and copy of his contract of work, but thee was no hassle at all at Heathrow. he was asked who he was visiting,he said his wife, asked for how long and he said 2 weeks, that was it. I wouldn't be worried at all.

My other half visited me... two times maybe more and had very few problems save a the usual interrogation - he always brought over the NOAs etc but they were fine with it - this time he came over and told them that he is bringing his fiancee home with him and they had no problem at all - he said it was a breeze this time :)

I don't think the UK authorities would know anything about NOA2's. The main thing to bring would be your ties to the US, rather than proof of your Fiance's intention to immigrate there.

My OH also has a 5 year multi-entry clearance, I'd be interested to know what they say about it expiring. We're supposed to notify the Home Office if we move away I think, but don't know if we'll bother. I'd love to hear how it works out for you.

I thought that too, but I called the home office after I had moved to california and the person I talked to really couldn't be bothered. I was still slightly worried due to his indifference to the whole thing so I called up the embassy in Chicago and they said don't worry about it either.

Given what you said, I'll make sure I bring her aff. of support as well since its all about me and my employment.
