I wouldn't call anything under 90 days "SLOW" !!! Count your blessings that you're a VSC filer and not a CSC filer. July 7 will be our 150 day mark, and we've only had 9 approvals in the past 2 weeks. We could realistically be looking at reaching the 180+ day mark. It really burns me when I see VSC filers whining about how long it takes. VSC couples that filed AFTER me already have their fiancee's here in the states, while we can't even get our NOA2 yet. Please spare me!!!

In January, VSC was approving petitions in a month's time. Over 90 days is sometimes a hard pill to swallow for those of us who expected to wait less. Sure, it's unfair... but CSC being slower doesn't give us less reason to gripe about the time it's taking to get to our loved ones. That is not VSC's ...or OUR... fault.

Just for the record... I contacted my representatives way before we even filed to make sure those who represent me were aware of the disparity between the two centers... even though i'm filing at VCS. You want to complain...do it through your representatives because I can tell you, we've been through all of this here at VJ and it does no good for anybody.

While I understand the frustration, I think it's totally unfair to be rude to other posters because of their own frustration with the process... no matter where they filed or how long they have to wait.

Just when I was feeling badly about all the years we had to wait just to get to the point of filing, I find a couple who have been together for more than a decade (a little longer than us) ...living on opposite sides of the earth all that time unable to file.... I find another married couple who haven't even seen each other in almost two years. Then there's our lovely sara who has been stuck in CIS hell for almost a year now...yet, somehow always offering a supportive word and her congratulations to EVERYONE here. Hers is the example I choose to live by. It makes this process a whole hell of a lot easier.

My point is... we don't know the 'whole' story. We haven't walked in each other's shoes and this is a place for support. Not for bitter words because some of us have to wait longer than others.

My heart goes out to anyone who has to go even a day without their loved ones by their side. I feel like i've been waiting a year just to breathe again... but my pain is no more important than anyone else's

good luck to ALL

I don't begrude those January filers who were approved in less than a month... not even when they complained about it! And I don't believe most of the CSC filers begrudge anyone else for being lucky enough to get through this part of the process a little faster.

well said, but were not complaining or getting jealous or some kind here, we know its case to case basis, were happy hearing that cases got approved here, of course everybody wants to be with their loved ones, its just sometimes of course were worried, what happen to our application, and its good thing that theres forum like these the least we know what happen, we choose to be here, coz we know this place wil helps us, sharing experiences, thought and feeling, yes were down, knowing the the process, compare to everyone, but it doesnt mean of putting anybody down here, thats why were here to share, and were just human we cant be perfect even we want to be......and its not our fellow citizens fault or whatsoever....we dont blame anybody here....for the record, we just share our thoughts and ideas, maybe some other person experiencing this kind of process,

Goodluck to everyone here.....

Maybe you are not complaining but my comments were for those who are. ;)

The first response to this thread was blatantly rude to the OP and that is just uncalled for.

Maybe you should look at the OP's timeline in their signature. They filed May27, I don't think a 30 day wait warrants complaining about VSC being " soooooooo slow". I can complain, because today is 141 days for us. Thats more than you and the OP COMBINED!!!

If you think it was rude, too bad, I'm entitled to my opinion. Some of us here bled to protect the first amendment. DID YOU???

I doubt you are making this process any easier for yourself by coming onto this thread and attacking the OP. Sara wouldn't do it because she understands the spirit of this community but if she came in here and said "hey you haven't waited as long as me yet, you don't have the right to complain, I'm sick of it" would your feelings towards the process just evaporate? We all find this difficult, we enter onto this journey hopeful and optimistic and slowly have it beaten out of us by the USCIS. I'm sorry that you are waiting still, I wouldn't wish any of this upon my worst enemy. We don't really know each other or how each of us are dealing with this process, to compare our individual pain is so futile. Whether its been a day, 365 days, 5 years it has been too long. The OP has a right to their opinion also and as adults we should be able to talk about them without being rude and sniping at each other. I understand your frustration but no one here is responsible for that, we didn't choose to file at VSC, if we were K3 filers this discussion would be the other way around. It's sadly just the way it is. I hope that you receive your approval soon.

Best wishes to everyone

And therein lies my argument. You are not the authority on who gets to complain and who does not. Even when you use your service to our country as an excuse to be rude to other people.

You can judge mine, and others, timelines as much as you want but you know nothing about me. Do you think i've been here so long because I enjoy arrogant remarks about other people's timelines??? Think again... i've been waiting for years (probably longer than you've even known your fiance) so pardon me while I borrow your tissue box and wipe away the 'poor me's' falling my eyes.

And to answer your question... no, I did not CHOOSE to enlist in the armed forces but every man in my family is a vetran of war and my uncle now serves as supervisor to the U.S. Marhshall's in Washington, D.C. I, however, don't believe that allows me, or anyone else, special priveledges as you obviously do.

This is an OLD argument.. if you'd really been here any length of time then you would know this. Yes, the disparity is unfair, we all know that...it's been discussed time and again. But your anger with the California Service Center does not give you the right to judge or be rude to another human being.

This is a website for knowledge and support during what is, for most of us, a very difficult time. Why some others feel this need to make it that much harder for people for no good reason is beyond me.

Maybe you can spill a few more drops so that people aren't treated differently based solely on which state they file from.

What does spilling blood have to do with the OP's statement or this thread in general?

I'm content to keep waiting because I knew this process would take awhile. I just passed my 90 day mark and I'm not fuming or upset about it. If I still haven't heard a peep in a week or two, then I might phone the USCIS and inquire as to whats going on. Why all the hostility among us?

Sorry, that was more of a rhetorical or generalized question. Probably should have just left it out of my post. Agreed though, this is a place for help and understanding things. Being hostile is the last thing anyone should be thinking because no one wants to help a rude individual. Some have waited months and months for this process while others have married in the time some people have waited just for a NOA1. Where one lives, what service they served in, etc doesn't make any one of us more important or less important than the next couple.

At the end of the day, no politician is going to do anything about any of this. It is unfortunate I agree. The approvals should be first in, first out, no matter the petition type (K-3 vs. K-1), no matter the service center. Maximum only 50% of the people involved in this process can even vote. So there's really no reason for them to do anything about it. I wish it were different, but they will approve the petition whenever they feel like it. It suc*s I know. There's some spreadsheets that a member posted, that actually have some valuable information where you can get an idea of what's going on between service centers and visa types. You can kinda see the trends. Here they are:

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=p-9...mJHCw&gid=5

http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=p-9...V-SBw&gid=2

The graphs posted on the website, are not representative of what is really going on. You have to do some timeline searches to gather real data. Also, I'm still trying to figure out what USCIS is putting out in the middle of every month on it's website. That data isn't even close to what is actually happening. I think every month, they just add 30 days to the previous months dates.

For all the back and forth that goes on with this site, (I'm guilty of it myself,) this place is truly the best source of information for anyone going through any kind of family based immigration, you just have to dig through it a little bit to get an accurate picture.
