my husband entered the country on 8 March 2008 with a CR-1 visa...we didn't receive his SSCard, so we had to go to the SS office and get one; now we've waited 17 weeks from date of entry and still no green card---he has several job interviews coming up: who can we contact to track down his green card???

thanks!

You can make an INFOPASS appointment at the Immigration office that serves your area. You can do this on-line by going to the www.uscis.gov site. On the right hand side will be an option to 'schedule an appointment'. Does he have the I-551 stamp in his passport? If so, he can prove his eligibility for work using that stamp. If not, he will be able to get it put in his passport at the INFOPASS. They should be able to help him get his physical green card as well.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

I know someone who has gone on at least 4 INFOPASS appointments because she was supposedly approved at her interview, in JANUARY. She and her husband finally went AGAIN this week and he brought in a letter from his boss in the army and will be sending 3 letters requesting that his GC be given to his wife. They are contacting their senator now.
