So I got off the phone with a USCIS "sr officer" who said that my case was in normal processing times of 24 months. It has been 7 months since I filed and nothing.

Are the AOS cases really that long to begin with?

8/27/2007 NVC sends approval notice to Seoul embassy

9/6/2007 Seoul embassy finally receives application/filed for interview

9/21/2007 worried about interview

10/13/2007 K-1 approved.

AOS can take as short as 4 months, or can take up to 2 years depending on name checks.

I have one of the most common names =(

I guess I put in too much faith into the processing times posted on the website

This process certainly helps us "hone and tone" our patience, if it is any consolation - I submitted my AOS pack in October 07 ( i see you submitted decemebr 07) and i have just completed my interview this month.

Each case is different - and experiences vary - the only thing i can suggest is to take comfort in the fact that at least you are now together as a couple and enjoy sharing your lives together.

Keep smiling - it will happen - send you lots of good wishes!

The lady who took my biometrics told me:

"You should receive your greencard in two weeks."

She didn't even wince! Little did the little blighter know, that I wasn't as green as I appear to be.

Truth is, it could take that long. But my name is fairly common and it took under a year from filing. My point is, just because some blimey person at USCIS tells you something (most especially issues of timeline), you should take each with a heaping tablespoon of kosher salt.

Here's wishing you a speedy run through of the FBI check.

I am just jealous of all the other people who have already gotten their interviews within months of applying for the AOS.

It has been almost 5 months since the last time I got a notice or anything and its says its still at the national benefits center =(

If still at NBC and not at CSC then look at your field office's processing time to get an idea how long it will take.

Your profile lacks field office info, or I would give you a direct link to your field office processing time page.

Look up field office here: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=of....office_type=LO

Then look up your field offices processing time for I-485 here: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/ptimes.jsp

My name is very uncommon and it took 22 months for my AOS to be approved with no RFEs and a transfer to CSC. Hope yours goes faster.

As if someone who takes your fingerprints knows when you're getting your GC *sigh* I didn't get my appointment for my GC interview, until AFTER my biometrics were taken.
