Ok, I think I may have figured this out. The draft on their website is the new form. If you actually open the draft, it contains the new questions, but the man hours are now back to 100,000. So this is how I see it. The requested the emergency approval. They must have gotten the approval, but since the I-129F expires 6-30-06, they now need to extend it's usage. So Either one of two things. One, they were denied and were told just to add it to the extension, or two they got approved and now need the extension, but means they can begin processing.

I think it is the second, which means they have an approval and why would they go for the emergency if they weren't going to start using it immmediately. Why wouldn't they wait for the extension. But, how can they extend something that doesn't have the correct questions????

I believe we will be getting great news either today or Monday.

I wonder why they sent a draft to be approved with an expiration date of 06-30...

The I-129F for review and approval on the OMB site is the new I-129F. They are applying for an extension of this form since it expires on 6-30-06. They could not get an extension on a form that adds questions to it, because the questions need approved first. So they had to get a revised I-129F approved before they could extend it with the new questions. So the new form is Approved, and now they need to apply for it's extension.

I think you looked at the OMB control number, no?

there was a number at the bottom . Name was Claire somebody...

Laura Dawkins and her number is 202-272-8350

Is someone gonna try and call her or what? I'd do it myself but I'm overseas!

I really don´t think they´ll leave us without anything for another 30 days, 60 days with them giving us nothing at all would be too much.

I don´t think they will tell us anything before they can actually use the new form.

I doubt they will release a statement saying they are also waiting.

In my opinion, once they have something to give us, we´ll be notified. Until then, we are gonna be waitinh as they are.

So I hope it doesn´t take that long for the extension to be approved.

Sorry about that lost post, I was trying to let you know that I also used the same method and it worked. I also received the same message from the person on the phone, "keep checking back, 2-3 weeks"

Laura,

Yes, that's what it says on the draft.

The expiration date for the existing I-129f is also 30 June 2006. (I wonder if someone forgot to update the expiration date when the draft was created?)

Yodrak

I think that what expires June 30th is the draft.

mike,

The draft I-129f form on the USCIS web site says the estimated time to complete the form is 1.5 hours (=300,000 hours for the estimated 200,000 submissions per year).

Are you reading from the draft form or from the supporting statement? Be careful that you find the correct supporting statement, the supporting statement for the draft I-129f, revised for IMBRA, does say 300,000 hours. It's the supporting statement for the last revision, updated for LIFE, that says 100,000 hours.

Yodrak

Ok, I think I may have figured this out. The draft on their website is the new form. If you actually open the draft, it contains the new questions, but the man hours are now back to 100,000. .....

Do you mean 1.5 man hours to review the form or for petitioner to complete?

There are not 200,000 K1 submissions per year. By the statistics on USCIS web page about 30,000 fiance visas are granted per year. Unless 170,000 get denied. Maybe I am missing something here.

ccmkoho,

Since mew helped me to see the light, I mean the time for petitioner to complete.

The 200,000 number is the estimate provided by the USCIS in it's supporting statement to the OMB for the I-1129f IMBRA revisions. Note that the same number was used by the USCIS when it submitted the previous revision to implement the LIFE Act. (see what you're missing?)
