Are we limited to English-language films?

A few more:

  • Ulaas Paravaigal (Tamil; locations change on-fly)
  • Fifty-fifty (Hindi: Rajesh Khanna and Tina Munim as "main pair of characters"***, Om Prakash as villain)

***common idea in about 90% of Bollywood films

Titanic

I would rather poke my eyes out than watch this movie. I hate it. I really do. And I pissed off a bunch of teenagers in the theater when the movie came out because during the previews I made some comment to my movie companion about wondering when they were going to show the sinking (you know in flashbacks, or what) and these girls in front of me turned around and were all "Oh thanks for ruining the movie!" They were serious. APPARENTLY they didn't know the Titanic was a real ship that had sunk. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Also I hate: The Man in the Iron Mask, William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet, Basketball Diaries....are you sensing a theme here?

Yes, I love that one too. Maybe if Johnny Depp were in the other one I would like it as well.

And Consolemaster...you're on. But you'll need an army to take me...maybe you should bring Jodie Foster wielding a telescope and Matthew McConaughey weilding bongos.

...William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet...
You talkin' the 1968 movie produced by Franco Zefirelli?

Gee, I guess you must not like Olivia Hussey then (she's one of the first two I can picture seeing the name "Olivia"--the other is De Havilland, as she appeared in GWTW)

Add the 1969 film version of Hamlet with Nicol Williamson playing the title role (even with Marianne Faithfull in the cast, that one was FUBAR).

Battlefield Earth.... great book but horrible movie

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

No she's talking about the one with Leonardo DiCaprio, like all the other movies she mentioned.

I saw Titanic in the theater 5 times, I think. I also loved Basketball Diaries and Romeo & Juliet.

Not counting ridiculous or really bad comedic films, ones that were reasonably well reviewed which I cannot stand:

Love, Actually (more like Lust, Actually)

The Last Samurai

Death at a Funeral

I don't mind Leo DiCaprio, but The Man in the Iron Mask was pretty dire.

Yeah, I love love love the Olivia Hussey version.

There's just something about Leonardo that makes me....on edge :) Though Blood Diamond was ok.

ok so this is not an unofficial RAZZIE AWARDS but jeffcloe's thread about "movies that made us cry" made me recall/think about some flick/s that bored, frustrated and made me laugh out of the sheer hilarity of it..this are my own personal choices and i hope i wont touch a sensitive nerve here..

Armageddon

Titanic

Pearl Harbor

Sylvester Stallone movies

Hudson Hawk

Chariots of Fire..some might like this one but should i say overrated?..

Any movie with Dan Aykroyd in it

Mr. Wrong (yup that one with Ellen De Generes)

The Last Emperor..cant seem to like this one..it won lots of oscars but this is not Bertollucci's best..

Pinocchio(Roberto Benigni)..waaaaaaaaa

Films directed by Michael Bay(armageddon/p harbor)

i can write about a hundred but these are the ones that i can think of..as of now...

I actually loved Armageddon, Titanic, and Spies Like Us (Dan Aykroyd).

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Also add "Trojan Women (1972)"--an unfortunately lousy movie with a stellar cast including Kate Hepburn, Vanessa Redgrave*** and Geneviève Bujold.

***Despite of the fact that I dislike Redgrave heartily (and have since I saw "Mary Queen of Scots" on moron-box in 1974), I still consider her an excellent actress.

Herer are a few bad(IMO) movies that haven't been mentioned, let's see what people think of these:

Waterworld, The Postman, The Guardian (I guess you can see my running theme in these three...;))

And I don't mind some of Leo's films, but I absolutely hated The Beach.

-P

Oooh, I wouldn't mind seeing Matthew McConaughey playing some bongos....preferably in the same state of UNdress as he was when he was arrested at his house in Austin. :D
