That film Flightplan with Jodie Foster wasn't any better.

So, I am not the only person that detests Steven Segal movies - what a relief! Yes, Flightplan was so far out there and because I know a little about aircraft construction felt that the movie was utterly unbelievable. But neither Flightplan nor Segal movies qualify as the worst I have ever seen. Reefer Madness was so ridiculous that it may qualify but I have seen many horrible, forgettable movies. Some old Peter Fonda and Michael Sarasin (sp) movies come to mind. Lots of goofy foreign films like spaghetti westerns etc.

Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensedregistered pharmacist". (because somebody gives a damn)

Most of those monster movies on the sci fi channel.

 Most look like they were filmed in my back yard with my kids toys.

So you missed the final scene where Jodie Foster said really nice things about you?

So THAT'S the Jenn she was talking about! :P

How about The Wicker Man??? Good God that was baaaaaad!

i think there are movies to 'analyze' and movies to just enjoy for kicks, thing is people sometimes mix that concept lol..

analyzing movies as the transformers, shoot'em up, or any jason statham movies is dumb IMO.. those are movies just to get entertained, yes there are fun and original enjoyment movies, like i dunno, snatch, lock stock and 2 smoking barrels, superbad, etc.. but is not the same as an arthouse film or those 'analyzing' movies like I dunno, the usual suspects

I dunno - I don't really agree with that. There are certain common factors that apply equally to pretty much all movies. What we have with a lot of summer blockbusters are little more than digital effects art-shows with a paper-thin pretense of a plot to paper over the cracks.

The "entertainment" angle you're presenting here is a fairly typical one which suggests that people should be entertained by bad scripts, poor pacing, leaden acting and uninspired direction. I don't really buy it...

Take Transformers for example - I honestly believe that had one of the world's worst screenplays. I get the premise and I was into Transformers when I was a kid. But... to look specifically at that movie - not only did you have a lot of redundant characters (that whole sub-plot with Jon Voight was tedious and pointless and Anthony Anderson's wise-cracking "dude" wasn't funny at all). I get it was about the giant robots, which is fine - but why the need then for these redundant scenes? Did they add anything to the story or the movie experience? Not really...

The Da Vinci Code was another one - a needlessly slavish adaptation of a mediocre book, that sacrificed feature film pacing so they jam in every single scene in the book, regardless of how it worked on screen.

well, for example, shoot'em up with clive owen, doesn't even have a clear script, the plot is kinda stupid.. but it's a very fun movie, has cool music, and I just get amused by the crazy stunts Owen does all the movie..

Right - but with Shoot 'Em Up that was the kind of the point. The general premise of that movie was to spoof John Woo action films and Looney Toons cartoons. It worked for me up to a point - though I think they took it a bit far with the torture scene towards the end that didn't really jive with the rest of the film.

I liked it because it didn't take itself seriously - unlike the source material that it was spoofing.

The new Pink Panther was god-awful. Watching Steve Martin mincing around trying to do a fake French accent was horrible.

I've never been a fan of the pink panther movies, not even the old ones...
