Hi all,

I have to say this is a lovely forum. My hubby and I are working on a 3-5 yr plan to move the family down to AR. Hubby is from Arkansas and I am Canadian. We have one child together, and I have two from a previous marriage in which my ex has given us permission to move with the children. However we really don't know where to start.

Our youngest has dual citizenship, however the older two are Canadian. If he adopts them would they be able to acquire dual citizenship?

Where would I find the poverty line for AR? I understand hubby has to have a certain amount of income in order to sponsor us and though he has an open door job offer there we'd like to make sure it's enough for our family.

I heard that sometimes people have to fill out the fiance application even though they are already married, would this apply?

Thanks so much!

I heard that sometimes people have to fill out the fiance application even though they are already married, would this apply? Nope, being married makes one ineligible to receive a fiance(e) visa but does not prevent anyone from applying. One visa (the K-3) requires the same petition as the fiance(e) but in the end it is a different visa

Thanks so much!

Thanks so much! It is definitely a good read through. I know that because my hubby worked for the state and my MIL being a lobbyist.... alot of this jargon will become more clear after they explain some of it..... I have to admit I'm fumbling with all the numbers LOL.

Is there an immigration package that I can download with a guide that will walk me through what forms for myself and the older two we need to submit?

I could hug you!!! Thank you! LOL Sometimes sorting and weeding through it all can be very over-whelming.

Okay, here's another question (so long as you all don't mind).

Presently we are living in Canada. If my husband were to go to the states, would we be allowed to go with? And if we did to visit and liked it, would he be allowed to sponsor us from within the USA?

Entering as a non-immigrant in order to immigrate is a big NO NO...

So then, is it possible for him to sponsor me if he lives in Canada? The reason I ask is that we have a son who is Autistic, if his daddy is gone for months the chances of him going through a major regression are huge and could set back his therapy years :/

If he has been a legal resident in Canada for at least 6 months, you can possible do Direct Consular Filing (DCF). There is a forum for that here, I guess read about how its done to get more info http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.php?showforum=82

Thanks a bunch all! That definitely looks like it may be the way to go for us :) He's been here since 2006 legal the whole time :D

My advise: explore the option of Direct Consulate Filing, it's the quickest way. You want to avoid dealing with USCIS service centers at all cost if possible. Most of us here can testify the headache and heartache dealing with this service centers.

The Guides http://visajourney.com/forums/index.php?au...amp;page=guides and the website of US consulate in Canada will be good places to start.
