not bad, but as i understand it one does not convert to islam, one reverts to islam, with everyone being born a muslim and so on.

I don't understand how someone can convert to any religion for another person. That really doesn't make sense to me. Either you believe in that religion and personally feel connected to God through it or you don't..... religion is for God not for another person. :star:

Nope.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Convert-revert.....just as long as ya get there

I accepted Islam in 2002 after reading so much about it after 9/11. I studied on my own from Sept 2001 til May 5 2002. No man involved at that point. He came into the picture a few months after shahada.

I knew about Islam but became interested after 9/11 also. I didn't know where to go or what to do so I didn't really pursue it. I met hubby and we discussed it at great lengths. The more I learned about it, the more I thought it sounded so much more like the way I believed and brought its followers soooo much closer to God than I felt. My main set-back was my belief in Jesus(pbuh). It took me a long time to realize that I didn't lose my belief in him but gained a belief that Prophet Mohammed (pbuh) (the same person that was spoken of in the Bible that would bring forth the message again) also brought the message ..... It was through many discussions with our very own Jackie that helped me realize that Islam was the place for me. I will forever be thankful to her for helping me find my way.

Thank you Jackie. I love ya girl

I had a great interest in Islam for many years before I ever met my husband. I had read several books, listened to Qu'ran on cd, had many Muslim friends. He never asked me to nor did he mind if I chose not to. It was last year during an online course w/ Sunnipath that I decided the time was right and as one friend asked me *What are you waiting for?*.

There's a rather comical story that goes along w/ how I said my shahada, but that's too involved to type here! :luv:

thank god we were already laying down when I told him I wanted to say Shahada. The first thing he did was ask if I was sure coz it was a big step and he didn't want me to do it coz of him. He actually told me that it wasn't something I should just jump in to. That is when I told him that Jax and I had talked a whole lot over quite a long time span about it and I knew it was time and that the thing I wanted most was for my husband to be the one person to witness it. I think he shed a coupla tears that night coz he had no idea.

I've studied and read a lot about all the religions but I don't think I'll be converting or reverting to any of them any time soon, but in the unlikely chance that I did do this then please know that it was out of the sincerity of my heart and not for any other reason.
