I live in Florida. Where do I send my K1 petition? I sent it to Vermont because that's where I was told to send it... But now that I look into things further, it looks like I was supposed to send it to Texas? They did cash my check though (5 days later) so I suppose that's a good sign? Thanks for your speedy replies!

where are you finding it says to send it to texas?

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1guide

Mail the I-129F Package to the USCIS:

Section 12 of the I-129F instructions lists where you should mail the completed form(s). If you live in the United States this will be the Service Center with jurisdiction over the petitioner's place of residence. Mail the package with return receipt requested / delivery confirmation. Send via USPS.

click the link on that section and it will show florida goes to vsc.

For where you live you sent it to the right place. Texas does not do K-1s.

Oher service centers used to handle the K1's so you probably just found some old information floating around.

Not to worry... you're all good. ;)

According to page 5 of the instructions for the I-129F you sent it to the right place. Filing for K-1 applications are now sent to Vermont or California. Texas and Nebraska centers no longer handle these forms. So, sit back and relax. Your waiting period is just beginning. If you receive an RFE (Request for Evidence) then respond as quickly as you can. The longer you delay on anything else needed the longer it will take to process.

You are now in a long holding pattern. It does come to an end. Take the time to prepare yourself for a life changing experience. Communicate with your fiancee as often as possible and be patient.
