I don't believe that's the case. From my understanding, the I-134 is used at the embassy for the interview for K3/K1. THe I-864 is used for Adjustment of Status once in the US. I know for myself at the embassy in Bangkok for K-3 they only ask for I-134.

Best thing is find out from the embassy and see what they require.

(I'm going for the IR-1 and blowing off the K-3. Even if it takes an extra couple months, it's worth it to not have to deal with USCIS again)

"Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Note:

Please fill out I-130, wait 6 months for approval, then 3 more months for an interview. (Unless of course we've bombed your country into the stone age, then you qualify for expedited processing.)

Welcome to the USA!!!

Actually, I need affidavit of support for my interview.. but my American wife is not eligible as a sponsor 'cause she's still a full-time student... so she'll contact a friend to co-sponsor me! .. but when I looked into the Affidavit of Support thing I found two forms and this is what got me a little confused .. which one my spouse's friend should fill and send to me, form I-134 OR form I-864..... but it seems I need form I-134, for my K3 visa interview!

Thanks for your inputs....

For a K3 visa the sponsor and co-sponsor each provide an I-134 with supporting documentation.
