hello everyone! Wheew! i just got my interview last june 24 in USEM. Everythings okay when i get out in the interview room #31. The consul there was very kind. A cute guy in his 30's. Before i left he gave me a sweet smile saying "OK, wait for your # to be called and see the next step." And then I stood up and a big WHEEW! was the only thing that came out of my mouth. He looked at me smiling(again) and he asked "are you ok?". I said "yes, I am!"

I waited only 2-3 mins and my name was called at window 39. The lady there asked for my name etc. I noticed she stapled a pink slip in one of my documents. I couldnt believe it. I knew it was the slip for visa delivery fee payment. Yahoo! But things get in the way when she said ..

.."You need to find a co sponsor."

_"Huh? what do you mean and why?"

_"He(referring to my husband) didn't meet the income requirements." (I managed to be relaxed but in my mind..This is impossible he met all the requirements. Cant they see the AOS! In fact he doesnt need to combine his income with his household members'. What the heck is going on?!)

_"What year?"

_"He(the consul) didnt specify."

_"You need to submit an original affidavit of support from your co sponsor."

_"What if i cant find a co sponsor?" (But i knew i already have)

_"Naku mam, you really have to. Kahit po sino. Kahit hindi po notarized" (She gave me instructions and handed me the forms to be filled out by the co sponsor (I-864). And the form MNL-IV-22, I noticed the checklist, this was the form the consul is busy checking at. He had marked the portion to which the following has to be submitted..Under FROM A QUALIFIED SPONSOR..

*AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT FORM I-864 FROM A CO-SPONSOR IN THE UNITED STATES WITH

ORIGINAL NOTARIZED SIGNATURE

*U.S. FEDERAL INCOME TAX RETURNS FOR YEAR(S) 2007

I remember the consul asking if my husband is working. I said that he's unemployed as of now. Then i repeat the word "as of now" to emphasize or to make him think that it is just temporary. I dont want to lie. He is currently unemployed. But by the time he submitted the I-864 to the NVC he is still working. He also sent proof of employment. The consul taught for a while and got this form which i didnt know it was the MNL-IV-22 that the lady gave me in window 39.

I figured it out. I think he just wanted to be sure that I will not be a burden so he demanded another sponsor because the annual income of my husband for the year 2007 is just four thousand dollars higher than the minimum income for household size of two (me and him). Last year he cant find a secured job ended up in months of working then got layed off again and again (contractual employee). Resulting in low income but above poverty line.

I filled out the Delbros form the lady at the window has given me.Paid the Delbros visa delivery fee Php290.

Then asked the guard if i can go home already. The guard smiled, told me "o, ok ka na pala, congrats! Pakain ka naman!" Because he saw the pink slip. NGEK! I told him that I have to come back to complete the additonal requirements.

My question is, can my brother-in-law who is living together with my husband be the co-sponsor? Is co-sponsor and joint sponsor the same? From which he would fall, joint sponsor or household member? It so happened that the co-sponsor or joint(if they are the same) is the household member too. Is I-864 enough without I-864A.Can it stand alone? They didnt asked for I-864A. I'm so confused with this matter. Even my husband phoned me and asking me things about the "Kalituhan Forms na yan!" that i cant answer. Again anyone out there who wants to explain this matter further? Even about my questions, i cant find the right words to say or ask  . Pls enlighten me.

Eto po sabi ng husband ko.."Eh pano sha(brother nya) magfifill out sa I-864 eh lahat ng tanong dun pertains to the sponsor(husband ko) lng and not the co-sponsor.
