Jeez.

If I got what I wanted I wouldn't care how it was spelled.

I wouldn't care much about the spelling too. But, quoted the wrong receipt numbers is another matter. It was basically other people's approvals that got sent to our address!

The spelling and typo errors just showed how careless and callous they are, no wonder they are so many delays.

Leah

So did you get what you wanted or not?

We wouldn't know.

Leah

So you are unsure if the expedite has been approved?

We didn't receive our approval notice, but someone else's approval notice got sent to our address. May be our approval notice is sent to another person's address? We wouldn't know.

I'm so horribly confused now you'll have to forgive me.

I read back to a few of your posts. I understand you received 'letters' or 'notices' with different case numbers.

Did you get an I797 form? This is the 'NOA' document.

Or did you get written correspondence?

And in either case, which documents had which case numbers on them? Did any of the documents contain case numbers which match your NOA1?

I'm trying to unravel this. I don't know if it will help you or not, but maybe we can try.

The first notice we received told us to wait 30 days for a decision on the expedite request. The receipt numbers match the NOA1.

The second notice told us the expedite request of WAC XXXXXXXXXX has been granted, but the receipt numbers do not match the NOA1.

Both notices have the petitioner's name and address correct, that's why they reached us.

My husband called, was told it could be a mistake and told to wait 45 days to sort out this.

My experience... Military expedites seldom work... they just get you some other way...

Well, with any expedite, you have to keep re-doubling your efforts at each step. First you have to convince USCIS to expedite the petition; then you have to try to rush NVC; then you have to push the consulate.

Yup.

We plan to request expedite at NVC and hope to skip the fee processing at NVC.

US consulate in Malaysia is very efficient, fast in relying email and have a fixed time for answering phone calls. They are also very accommodating and pleasant to deal with. They told me to call to schedule an interview. They are willing to schedule to an earlier interview when the file is forwarded to them.
