Children Recieved 221(g)

Hello all, This is my first post because of fustrations surrounding my case. I hope someone can help steer me in the right direction. I am a US citizen and I met my wife whom is from the Republic of Georgia and a legal resident of the US. We met two years ago in june 2006 and after a few months we fell in love and moved in together. After one year we decided to get married. I however had been separated for over 6 years but not divorced. So I filed for divorce and shortly after we got married. After a few weeks of marriage I petitioned for my wifes 2 1/2 year old son and 17 year old adopted daughter. She was adopted in 2002 before my wife originally left Georgia. Everything seemed to move according to plans with both my step sons and step daughters cases. The were approved thru USCIS then again throught the Visa Center. We were extatic about the news of their interview just a few weeks ago. We made sure everything was in order and we even made sure my now 18 year old step daughter had power of attorney over my young son. We even stayed up during the day of the interview to speak with my daughter after the interview. But alas we recieved word from her that they were denied and recieved a 221(g). We had her fax the document over to us hoping to find some evidence of why. I called the consulate that evening and spoke to a agent whom said she could not give us any reasons over the phone. She continue to tell me only via email they could respond. So I wrote and turned on return reciept to make sure they read the message. All we recieved back was a canned response and again no reasoning behind the 221(G). The strange thing about this 221G is the fact everything is being sent back to USCIS for review and I still have no clue to why. I know by the tax forms submitted they say my previous taxes with my ex-wife for the previous year. Could they dout the realness of my marriage? I know they did ask my step daughter what my two sons with my first wifes names were and she did not know because my wife never went into conversation with them about their step siblings. Mainly because they live in another state with their mother so it seemed it did not need to be discussed till they arrive here. This has been very painfull turn of events and even more so because my wife left Georgia when her son was still a infant. She had no choice since her visa was due to expire if she did not act.

I know this is very wordy and just hope as I reach out that someone can shead some light on my issue..
