The figure includes large numbers of dissatisfied Republicans and represents a sharp increase in pessimism over the last year. Higher fuel prices have sharpened the criticism.

WASHINGTON -- Three out of four Americans, including large numbers of Republicans, blame President Bush's economic policies for making the country worse off during the last eight years, according to a Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll released today, reflecting a sharp increase in public pessimism during the last year.

Nine percent of respondents said the country's economic condition has become better off since Bush became president, compared with 75% who said conditions had worsened. Among Republicans, 42% said the country is worse off, while 26% said it is about the same, and only 22% thought economic conditions had improved.

Blame the inept, lying, dishonest, do-nothing, grant amensty to illegals, grant gay marriages, tax and spend, no energy plan, Democrat Congress. What you fail to mention is that THE DEMOCRAT CONGRESS has the lowest and worst approval rating in history of the USA AND their rating is worse than GW BUSH'S!

BHO has been a part of this failed Democrat Congress now for about 3 plus years, fact. Makes me wonder how he is going to change anything when he darn sure could not do it as a US Senator!

Number 6 you devil you, maybe in 2006. But this is not 2006 but late June 2008 and 2 years later this Democrat controlled Congress is not delivering at all now are they? Was meaning 2008 to be specific not 2006.

Unless I'm much mistaken the Democrat Congress has a slightly higher approval rating than the Republican Congress around the time of the 2006 election.

As this poll demonstrates, most Americans realize where the bulk of the responsibility rests on. That is unless the Republican Party is saying the last years, they have been ineffective at governing.

Do you realize that the Democrat controlled US Congress has a current lower approval rating than GW Bush? You can try to spin it any way you like but what you are trying to say and do is simply not true, And you can find this on CNN - Lou Dobbs! Go check it out for a change before spewing that liberal self interest noise about some poll that is not even realistic or accurate.

Well you can fixate on the last two years while ignoring the 6 years before that. I don't know about you - but that would seem to involve a bit of denial...

It doesn't really mean much to be honest - except that people are disillusioned with Congress in general.
