$12.95 for the duration of the flight?

I'd pay, on a flight that was more than 4 hours.

American plans to charge $9.95 to $12.95 for Internet service, depending on flight length.

...

Passengers will be able to use e-mail and instant messaging and to download video and connect to secure networks on notebook computers or other wireless devices such as smart phones through three wireless access points on the plane, said Dave Bijur, an Aircell executive.

I'd pay for sure.....I can never sleep on planes so that would be great for long flights, esp if I could get to play WoW :D

Hey if you get a good airplane charger and sit in a seat with a plug sure...

But to be honest I rarely sleep on a plane, and I think my time criterion would be in the 6+ hour range... Dang I'd love it if I got the chance to try it out next week.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I can't remember the airline but internet access was already on flights but went away in 2005. Now it's back.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Sure, I'd pay them. Then I'd head straight for YouTube and watch things like this:

Or if you wanted to be particularly sadistic, put anything on with some Arabic writing... not funny but hey... people are still pretty nutty sometimes.

Most really big airports DO already charge for wireless access inside the airport, I know DFW does, MIA does, JFK does, but smaller ones like Fort Lauderdale and Fort Myers don't...

I'd use it on the airplane...I can see it now...VJ'ers arriving on different flights to the same airport..could advise which immigration officers are in a bad mood today!! :)

Interesting idea!!!!!! You could totally screw with the inspection agents too... ask them how they are and then have the next VJer keep up the conversation later in line.
