Hi, is it true that if you're a US military spouse and you got the US VISA it doesn't require you to travel States for Greencard or Citizenship? How this is possible? What are the guidelines (if any).

Thanks, I appreciate any comment.

There are also exceptions for lawful permanent residents married to U.S. citizens stationed or employed abroad. Some lawful permanent residents may not have to comply with the residence or physical presence requirements when the U.S. citizen spouse is employed by one of the following:

- the U.S. Government (including the U.S. Armed Forces);

- American research institutes recognized by the Attorney General;

- recognized U.S. religious organizations;

- U.S. research institutions;

- an American firm engaged in the development of foreign trade and commerce of the United States; or

- certain public international organizations involving the United States.

There are might be some rules if you live on a US military installation.... but beyond that ....

Hi there! Thanks for your answer.

I live here in the Philippines and my husband is stationed in S. Korea and his Military orders is until June next year, I will be getting my US VISA in no time..we heard that I don't need to travel to US because I'm military spouse but also I will not be going to the military installation in S.Korea, he will be the one to visit me here. I'm afraid VISA is only valid for 6 mos? It needs renewal I guess if I have to travel next year....
