Hi Everyone

I'm sorry..I just dont understand the DS-3025 topic.

We have a copy of the DS-3025 and I have read that we can submit this with the AOS paperwork

but I am confused about what the I-693A is (they look the same)

Does the 3025 need to be transferred to the I-693A or can we go to our AOS interview with the DS-3025 in hand.

My Fiancee's medical was done 3 months ago prior to our K1 interview and she was given a copy of the DS3025

Thank you

Steve, and Karin

The consensus appears to be that the DS-3025 is 'acceptable' - at least, several VJers have reported sending it with the AOS paperwork and receiving approvals. I sent it in for our AOS as well, but we are still pending. NavarreMan reported finding a Civil Surgeon (at no charge!) in his area for the other document, so that might be an option in your area as well.

Since May 1, 2008 the I-693a is no longer valid. Civil surgeon must use the I-693.

Yeah some people get away with using the DS 3025. Not recommended to try tho.

So what is the difference between the I-693A and I-693???

THIS IS SO CONFUSING

K1-Visa in Montreal, Canada.

2/15/08 - Sent all documents and forms through express! I was close to the expiration date

3/27/08 - Interview letter!!! I was in the US with my Fiance so I couldn't come back in time, rescheduled appointment.

4/24/08 - Got my interview done :) Approved! Passport+visa+brown envelope will be sent within a week.

~ Flying to US on 6/11/08.

~June 19 2008- Married!!!

The I-693 form changed on May 1, 2008. Before that date, there was a vaccination supplement page known as I-693A, which was the equivalent of the DS-3025. Some people used to send in the DS-3025, but others preferred to be safe and have the information transferred onto the I-693A. Since May 1, the I-693A doesn't exist any more and the vaccination supplement is now included as part of the new I-693.

If you had the medical as part of the K1 process (ie less than a year ago) then you only need to send in the vaccination supplement with the AOS application. Officially you have to send the I-693, but some people do choose just to send the DS-3025 and not bother having the information transcribed onto the new form.

I needed to have one more shot so my DS-3025 was incomplete. I found the nearest Civil Surgeon who gave me the shot AND transcribed my DS-3025 onto the new I-693 form. He sealed it in an envelope and I submitted that as part of the AOS application.

I'd advise being cautious and getting the information transcribed onto the new form. If you haven't seen already on this forum, Dr Arnold in Austin TX allows you to do this by mail. You can find the details by going to the first sticky post in the AOS forum (FAQs: Forms I-693a and DS-3025).

I hope this helps you! PM me if you have more questions.

We submitted the DS-3025 with our AOS packet and did not receive an RFE.

SInce we provided the medical packet at the POE in Houston, we will only bring the DS-3025 along with us to the interview.

My ds3025 is from canada... will that be a problem if I just send the photocopies (meaning I will get an RFE)? I guess it would be better to send it to a civil surgeon to get it "certified"...?

"We submitted the DS-3025 with our AOS packet and did not receive an RFE."

Your not "out of the woods yet".

You may get lucky and get away with not using a civil surgeon and not submitting a I 693. Could pop up at your interview.

If I were you I'd be prepared.

Do we know for sure that the date that I-693a was discontinued is May 1, 2008?

I did a little research and found that there are 2 changes in the Vaccination requirements recently.

http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/civil_ti_vacc_2008.htm

http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/civil.htm

May 1, 2008: New TB requirements. But I believe those only apply to people who test positive.

Read about it here: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/dq/pdf/civil_surgeon_ltr.pdf

July 1, 2008: They added a bunch of age-related vaccines which are mandatory.

Some countries require K-1 applicants to complete the vaccination requirement before issuing the visa. If that's the case, you are not required to send in any vaccination papers, according to the PINNED FAQ on this forum.

If the beneficiary's vaccinations were COMPLETED as part of the visa process, IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO INCLUDE FORM I-693A IN THE AOS SUBMISSION. All your medical information is enclosed in the brown envelope which was handed in at the POE. The envelope is then forwarded on to USCIS where it will be consolidated with the I-485 submission, once received. If you received a copy of the Vaccination Documentation Worksheet (Form DS-3025) from your Panel Physician, you may include a copy of that form in your AOS submission in place of Form I-693a.

Does this still apply now that the 693a is no longer in use?

Hi Everyone...

Just an Update..

As I stated before, we only sent in the DS-3025 with the AOS packet and during our interview the officer only made 1 comment about the vaccines were ok

Our medical records were given at POE and this was enough..

We were approved without the I-693a at the interview
