My case was processed in Vermont Service Center since he's residing in NY it tooked 4.5months for approval. While my friend processed in California Service Center it took them 4 months for approval so I think just the same timeframe. She got here visa a month after here interview while I got mine 3 working days. Well, if you get lucky it would be more faster. Goodluck!

All I could say about vermont is they suck

snail speed

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. All logical thinking was out the door, as I filed my papers withing famous Vermont Centre!

Since you can't choose as service centers are assigned based on your residence... It does not much matter.

When I filed our first petition the VCS and TCS were faster than the CSC. I wished our petition had gone to the VSC or TSC. People were complaining about the slowness of the CSC back then.

6 months ago, CSC was slow.

Now it's VSC.

6 months from now, it'll be CSC again.

Get the picture?

and that sequence changes depending on what visa or part of the process you are looking at

Like others have said, where you file is dependant on where you live. You don't have a choice. Sorry.

Yes I do agree with you...sometimes VSC is faster and sometimes CSC ...its like we just have to wait that they process our papers... and yes your right again...its really dependent to where you live..thanks.

Sometimes things happen. My husband lives where the file should have gone to VSC and somehow they routed it to CSC instead. I'm not sure why or if that will make a difference with processing time, but we're hopinf for the best.

It also seems to depend on the exact paperwork - what benefit are you filing for. In my example, I wish my application to Remove Conditions had been transferred to California instead of being transferred to Vermont. California is processing applications in 4 to 5 months. Vermont is processing the same application in 12 to 14 months. It would be nice to have a choice, but we don't.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

It really doesn't matter to me which service center they transfer our case to.The only thing that matters to me is our case being approved.Going through this process takes a lot of patience, determination and time.Since hubby and I have taken the plunge into USCIS we've made up our minds that this journey won't come to closure over night.Plus I can't afford to be stressed out putting my health in jeopardy, so I just take it one leisure day at a time.

Good~Luck to Us All!

At this point, I agree with that....time is not really a big deal anymore. Although, ask me in November of 2009 if we haven't been approved for LOC and I am cussing about having to make an infopass appointment to save his DL and job.
