Some other questions here:)

1) What's the difference between ITR and W2s?

2) My fiance requested for ITRs from IRS last April 1, and he kept on calling them every two weeks, and they said they sent it already but we havent received anything yet. The guy from IRS said they can just fax it to my fiance , and that can be honored. Is that true?

3) Where else can he get ITRs and W2s?

4) My fiance told me that worse comes to worst, he will call the book keeper and ask copies of ITR there, but that's a copy of unfiled ITRs (copies of ITRs before it is filed), will that be honored?

5) Is there a payment to be forwarded to IRS for copies of ITRs?

Thanks.

my husband just scanned his ITR's and W2's i think they will honor those

I go by the simple rule of thumb when it comes to this process..."too much is better than not enough."

If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. - Matthew 21:22

The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. - Hebrews 13:6

I will fear no evil - Psalm 23:4

The real difference between Tax returns and W-2s is that The ITR is a federal document that shows your combined total income. If you have income from rental properties, multiple jobs, dividends, etc. all of that will be included in your total Income Tax return. Your W-2 shows total income from a job, that those who are self employed might not have. If you work in multiple jobs, you would have to send all of the W-2s and the ITR is a cleaner, clearer way to see the total gross adjusted income, as well as potentially what other withholdings you have.

I would think that above all, if you make above 125% of the poverty line, the most important and necessary documents are the ITR and W-2 for the most recetn year. If your fiancee does not make enough, then you will need to prove that he has enough liquid capital or saleable property to support you instead of becoming a public charge. Failing all of that, he would need to get a co-sponsor and provide financials for him.

I sent Riza a letter from my work, because it was easy for me to obtain and provided a second proof that I made over the poverty level. I did not include check stubs, because I figured what I had was sufficient.
