Congratulations on the beginning! I hope it won't be a long wait but as Leafgal said, we are all here for you. :D With that said, when you do decide to visit, make sure you bring strong proof of ties to Canada when you go through the POE...things like lease/mortgage agreement, letter from employer stating when you are to return to work, anything that shows you have strong ties to Canada. You may or may not be asked, but it's better to be prepared just in case. There are many who visit during the process so don't let this scare you. Hopefully you won't need to bother with that for too long and this part of the journey won't be long at all! :D

So they accepted the package 2 days ago....you have to wait my dear! It will take a couple of weeks before you're going to get a notice saying they received it! This is what we call NOA1. You'll have a case number on that sheet of paper, and with that, you can sign up for on-line tracking of your application.

Best of luck on your quitting smoking!

There isn't a seperate Chicago postal system...it's the whole darn country's system! And you're going to find...that the US system is MUCH better than the Canadian one.

Take a breath and hold on tight for a heck of a ride until your approved!

Edited to ask...how the heck can you check on your case status when you just sent your applicaiton in on Tuesday?
